I saw them play shortly before they broke up when I was a kid. I loved their music, had both their cd's, and it was my first concert ever, and an amazing one at that.

Apparently they reformed about a year ago, and are playing here (Washington D.C.) on August 25th.

Fancy that. I'll definetely have to go to the show.

Strange though, that word never got around that they were back together.

They were put there by a man...

They played in Portland in the Spring sometime, and a couple of my friends went. They said it was an awesome show. Full of the old favorites, but with a lot of new stuff too. I was sad that I didn't hear about it until they had already left for Portland. Alas.

...in a factory downtown.

They were always one of the bands I was embarrassed to admit I liked. Now I'm just suprised that my toe still taps along to their annoyingly catchy tunes.

I really liked "Little Blue Dune Buggy." But then a kid I worked with played the whole album and the one about the cat made me blush to my fingertips. [No No]

I can't respect them as musicians at all. Between two guitarists, they only have 5 strings.

That's sad.

I liked the dark one with the lizard in the backyard. Can't remember anything else about it except it was different from the rest of the cd and very interesting musically.

I saw them live after their first cd came out and it was a great show. Who needs strings? That's just prejudice! [Smile]

I was never into them enough to know any of their music except "Lump" and "Peaches." I just loved the fact that there were ninjas in the "Peaches" video for no apparent reason.

Everything's better with ninjas.

I liked them. Dune Buggy was probably my favourite song by them, I remember getting very sick of Peaches because it was so overplayed.

"Movin' to the country, gonna eat a lot of peaches!"

This is what my husband and I sang to each other when we were engaged. It's our song.

Last night, we put up 20 quarts of peaches and I fondly remembered the song.

Odouls, that was sort of the point. The music they play doesn't need all the instruments strings, so they don't use it. Most bands don't use all of the strings on their instruments, and yet seem to have multiple guitarists (e.g. The Strokes), and no one seems to mind. At the time, it was supposed to be a statement about the musicality of grunge rock, but it really doesn't make that much of a difference today.
