Hatrack, join me in telling MPH how wonderful he is.
I was a crappy wife today, I was stressed and busy and didn't do anything special for his B-day. But I can do this.

Welcome to the dark side, mph.

Yup, it's true. 30 today. Funny, but I don't feel even a day over 30.
Posted by fallow (Member # 6268) on :
bev,
I'd love to tell him how wonderful he is, so long as he comes clean about what (the FUH!) porteiro means?!!!
*nosey surfs wanna inquire*

Heh. Welcome to the 30's, Mr. Head.
And Bev - you can always make it up to him later.

He has said what it means several times. But I will explain again just for you, fallow.
His name is Porter. He speaks Portuguese. In Portuguese, Porter is Porteiro. Say Porteiro. Sounds a bit like "potato", doesn't it? There was a popular child's toy called Mr. Potato Head. Thus we derive: Mr. Porteiro Head.
Posted by beverly (Member # 6246) on :
Oh, I will....

*whispered aside*
bev, are you sure there's no potato here?
Posted by mr_porteiro_head (Member # 4644) on :
fallow --
I explained what it means to Eduardo here, as well as many other places over the months.
edit: That wasn't supposed to sound snippy. I don't blame you for not reading every single thread in the hopes of finding the meaning of my name.

MPH,
well swat my hind with a deep-fat-fried honey-due melon-rind, but that's...
a shallowed-fallow's pork-rinded state-o-mind.
happy birfsday!

Ya know, I wasn't even gonna make the hot potato joke.
Although it does have a certain appeal.
Oh, Mr. Head! You spud, you!
-Trevor
Posted by Little_Doctor (Member # 6635) on :
I used to make two different kinds of Mr. potato heads when i was younger. One was the teacher, he had glasses and a mustache with a bowler cap. the other was the "cool dude" with no glasses, no mustache, and a backwards baseball cap. Which are you MPH?

No.

Both are his alter-egos.
Posted by mr_porteiro_head (Member # 4644) on :
Oh, I'm definitely the un-cool potatoe.
Posted by Little_Doctor (Member # 6635) on :
a ha! it's all clear to me now. In my toddler years. I forsaw myself speaking with MPH and i made a shrise to him through my Mr. Potato Head toy. Oh, what genius i was.

Posted by beverly (Member # 6246) on :
I did get him a cake.... But a bunch of Cub Scouts ate most of it.
Posted by Little_Doctor (Member # 6635) on :

I'd email you a piece--if that were possible.

Bev -- don't feel too bad about not doing anything special for his b-day. I'm sure he is well aware that you were stuck in the Sodom thread all day yesterday <BIG GRIN>
It is great that you BOTH do Hatrack -- that way you understand the addiction!

Posted by PSI Teleport (Member # 5545) on :
Well I can try to pretend that it wasn't totally lame of me that I forgot to tell you happy birthday when we spoke yesterday, even though you TOLD me the day before that it was happening. Can I plead insanity by potty training?
At any rate, Happy Birthday you old son-of-a-gun!

Congratulations, ak, for managing to be very complimentary and good-naturedly insulting in the same line. That's a skill I need to learn...
The real question is this: When do I get to be a cranky old man? I think I'm ready for that challenge.
