So here I am at work.... again... didn't I just go to work yesterday?

Pulling a double... *gag*wrech* (or is that wench?)

So sleepy.... only got 3 or 4 hours of sleep and I'm up at a "normal" time...but this strange "normal" time is like 3am for me.

Made a strange coffee drink from the building cafeteria... put coco mix in with it. Mmm mmmm... makeshift moca.

Viva la vi la Moca!

Can't seem to keep eyes open.... [Sleep]

wha...?! Oh yah... at work... mustn't slepe....

Speaking of sleepy... I blacked out in the bathroom a few weeks ago.

Don't know why. I think there is a summer bug moving around. Spent the night at a friends house... fan was on high and was too cold. Woke up... started feeling sick... went to the bathroom ... the next thing I know I'm on the floor having missed the toilet.

It was a very unplesant time. I remember blackness and a terrible sense of doom and darkness and I remember when I started to come to that I was breathing really really fast and was a lot of pain and felt like death...

Finally foced myself to open my eyes and realized that I was on the floor! And in a strange house.

Very weird.

I'm fine now... but it got me thinking if that is was death feels like: hardly aware and in blackness and breathing fast and sickness...

wacky stuff

So I went and got some water. I nice tall styrophomne cup of ice water. I think I shall pore it on my head.

*sip*

Or maybe just sip it. This is my third glass of something...just trying to stay awayke. Ah ha! My third glass of water/coffee has led to the second trip to the bathroom! Sleep is at bay for another few minutes...

*fights the good fight*

Well... I'm back... and I've finished what is probably my third gallon of water. How much do these styrofome cups hold anyway?

I've been munching on tictacs all morning too... the thing is almost empty and it's given me heartburn. Time for more water to wash it down.

I usually smoke to pass the time and keep me awake..... but I got shorted on my last paychecksandbalances and have no money and no more ciggies! Gah! What's a poor sleepy bohimean goth gay security officer to do??? Go to the bathroom... again... brb.

Heh, good luck Telp.

I remember my first graveyard shift in the school computer lab.

I remember thinking, "oh, I'm sliding out of the chair. I'm hitting the ground. Nice ground. Soft ground. No one will notice if I nod off."

Of course, there were four people standing around me at the time. [Big Grin]

*sigh* The receptionist just left to make copies or something and I'm stuck up here guarding her spot when I really really really have to use the restroom.

Let's just say I'm not very sleep at the moment....which I guess is a good thing.

*prays for her quick return*

That is the absolute worse thing about my job too -- I'm stuck on the helpdesk phone, wired in -- and no one else is around and I have to go to the bathroom really bad. I can be excruxiating.

Our headpieces are wireless -- I know sometimes the guys have gone into the bathroom with their phones ON -- but I refuse to do that. (they just put the caller on "mute" for a minute)

Hehehe.. yup.. I'm those nameless guys you seen on Alias or Matrix or CSI guarding things and running after peeps and usually getting beaten up. [Wink]

I think I've started some kind of scary chain reaction...I've had to use the restroom like 5 times in the past half hour. Oh look... I've gotten another massive stirofoamy cup of water... glutton for punishment... at least my kidneys will be clean.

Fight to stay awake!

Another stoopid post on the ongoing saga on my battle to keep my job....

Made an inspection round. This usually entrails me walking around the building looking at stuff and saying hi to people and making sure no cars are stolen or anything is leaking anything that might be bad.

I decided to see how I could reach a door down a hallway by making looping curves and right angles.. good thing no one saw me. did I mention I am sleepy?

Here's an interesting story...

We were down at my farm in Ohio (our farm has been in the family since the Civil War). We had corn and beans growing...standard. Beans put nutrients back in the soul for other crops to grow in. Did I say soul? I ment soil.

Anyway, our nieghbor who live a half mile away came by with a back-ho. He's just driving his huge machine through our yard into our field.

We walk over a tad confused and ask..."um, why are you on our property with a back-ho?"

He replies "Oh, just looking for my dead horse".

????? *boggle*

"What??"

We follow the farmer back to the place he mysteriously knew where his dead horse was. And yup... there was a dead horse. (I though of bringing it to Hatrack)

Well aparently his horse had gotten out and ran to our field and started eating the corn. Horses can't burp and corn makes gas... so the poor horse's stomach exploded.

It was just a wierd event. We had been there already for days and hadn't seen anything...and coudn't guess how this farmer knew exactly where the horse was in the field.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Yep, Telp -- that's right. Gorging on corn is a good way to kill a horse --- they can't handle it. And horses seem to be missing that little part of the system that says "I'm full - quit eating"

You know what?

Aule and Yavanna don't really have the best marriage.

I mean, it was a match made in heaven but they had issues. And I mean ISSUES.

I think they might have resolved some things but I know for a fact they cheated on each other in the beginning.

Aule and his illigitimate kids, the Dwarves... talk about self love at best...but just think of the rumors that he and his father did that together... talk about sick.

And then Yavanna goes off and has the Ents with Manwe... but how can we blame her. She was just getting back at her cheating husband.

It's just wrong I tell you. If the heavenly Powers won't follow the rules what kind of examples are they putting out there?

Where is Danger Mouse when you need him?! Or Bannana Man??

I think I'm even beyond their help... I need to go straight (no pun intended) for the Cities of Gold and Arkadia. Need some serious Terah rainbow dawn action...

And now I'm hungry. I shouldn't be hungry. I had two pounds of salmon last night with 4 serving of rice. I know you shouldn't eat right before bed but I couldn't resist the call of the salmon.

Now all we have in the cafeteria is some icky smelling vegan lasania. Bleh....

I LOVE the movie Minas Tirth. Ahhh... *drools* Love the way it resembles Constantinople.

But sometimes it just gets to me that the City is just too damn tall! It should have been more squat and city-like, instead of climbing up like a triangle. But that's just me. I'm sure they were trying to show the evolution of the City from military outpost to fort to city to capital city.

Thus having the majority of the civilian buildings in the "newest" part of the lowest circle with the outermost wall the shortest and least advanced. (Even though Tolkien said that the outermost wall was the most advanced and made of the same indestructable stuff as Orthanc.)

The same thing happened with old Roman bases and forts, cities would grow up around them and they would have to build more walls to include the growing population.

But actually when you think on it itn't not really the height that's the problem... since I think it's right, it's how it is not wide enough.

And the city walls and buildings fell apart too easily when hit.

As for the architecture of the City, I think it's brilliant. They created an art history for the Gondorians that cleverly matched our own... the emblem of Gondor is the White Tree, and they have images of the White Tree as an icon with the domed fan... so the domes of the city are an architectural salute to the national symbol!

And that brings us back to the look of Constantinople and the applicability to LOTR. The Eastern Roman Empire and Constantinople were the lesser offspring/survivors of Rome and the old empire, just as Gondor and Minas Tirith are the lesser offspring/survivors of Numenor. The movie makers were trying not only to show the art history of the fading Numenoreans and their relation to the Tree but to make a connection with our real history...giving it more impact in the process. Tolkien I think did this too.

You can even make this connection without Numenor only using Osgiliath, aka: Old Gondor.

So that's why I think the look of Minas Tirith's architecture is perfect.

Ok... so I'm kinda dating this dude. His name is Russ.

He's the older cousin of my good friend Neal who I've had a crush on for years, but have finally gotten over. Well...at least to functional levels....

Russ is bi and divorced for a few years and has two young girls. He's not out to his family either.

Can we say strange? I sure think it's wierd. We've had a few serious conversations about "the future". He doesn't plan on coming out to his homophobic family or friends and doesn't see the need for it.

I put forth that "what if" we stayed together what would happen. Part of a relationship for me is someone I can take home to meet the folks. Russ can never do this currently. And of course if we were to "marry" or whatever I would expect to be a part of his family too... especially if I'm going to be a step-dad to the children.

Again, Russ, though not defiant about it, still has no plans for me to become involved if we stay together for the long haul.

Needless to say our relationship has probably reached as far as it will ever go....

I guess I'm just maintaining it because there is nothing better presenting itself. *shrugs*

I dunno... I like him and his company and I feel really comfortable around him and we have great...um...fun...together...

Who knows.... life is weird. [Smile]

Hey Space O...

Nope... first time. It first hit me when I went outside with the others to smoke... started feeling dizzy...then nausious and then like I had to use the toilet really bad.. that's when I went back in.. feeling sicker with every step and like my body was going to purge EVERYTHING from everywhere at the same time...

I've had a bout of food poisoning or flu before where my body wanted things to come out of both ends at the same time and I though I might have been poisoned again...

I was trying to figure out how to bend myself into a U or just climb in the bathtub went I woke up on the floor. [Wink]

I don't even know how long I was out... could have been a few seconds, could have been 10 minutes.
