First question. Should it be taken with food, or on an empty stomach?
Next question. What are the most common side effects and what percentage of people experience them?
Is this stuff supposed to make me feel this yucky? I took one today , then four hours later, as indicated on the bottle, I took 2 more. The dosing instructions say 1-2 tablets every four hours.
I got really sick to my stomach. the nausea gradually got worse.
I was reuctant to take them in the first place, because of the listed side effects, and am even more reluctant to continue taking them because of how the made me feel.
If I stop taking them, how do I dispose of them?

Percoset is a very strong narcotic. The side effects listed are pretty much the side effects of strong narcotics. The more you take, the more it'll affect you. Nausea is the most common side effect. I'd stick with one tablet every 4-8 hours, as needed. Try it with food. Substitute plain tylenol instead when the pain isn't too bad. You can't combine tylenol and percoset unless you watch the dosage carefully, because percoset has tylenol in it. Your maximum dose of tylenol is 4000mg per 24 hours and you DO NOT want to exceed that level.
Oh, and I never bother telling people every side effect or the percentages. It just makes most patients too paranoid. You've already read about the side effects anyhow. Watch out for the nausea, don't drive with it, watch out for constipation (increase your fiber intake). Don't tell anyone you have percoset, it's worth a lot on the black market and people would love to ransack your house and take it. We've just had a conversation about how to get rid of drugs here: http://www.hatrack.com/ubb/cgi/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=2;t=025740 Alucard recommended flushing percosets down the toilet so that no-one else can get ahold of them.

Derrell -- I'm really surprised you didn't get full product information along with the prescription. When I get a prescription filled, they always give, on a huge receipt, information that includes all side effects, how to take the meds, whether to take it on a full or empty stomach, with or without liquids, etc. Did your pharmacist give you nothing?

Farmgirl, I got the sheet with the list of side effects and all the other information. I was just hoping to get some information that may not have been contained in the sheet they gave me.
I think I'm going to avoid taking anymore unless the pain gets really bad. The way I felt last night when I got home from work was awful.
