American Civilians doing it on their own in Ahghanistan.

And being proud of it.

It seems a few US Civilians and some locals worked together to creat their own Informational Resource Center---Torture Chamber.

They were either:
A) Writing a book/movie on counter terrorism.
B) In it for the bounties and the money.
C) Liked hurting people and wanted to be important, and are using patriotism as their shield
D) Not what Rumsfeld had in mind when he talked about contracting freelance intelligence companies.
E) All of the above
F) Something stranger or more sinister.

I wondering if the Pixiest thinks that the possible torture of people here was another "non-story" as well. [Roll Eyes]

actually, this is a lot closer to a non-story. It wasn't US Army backed. It doesn't give us a black eye in the world community. We don't have high ranking generals, and politicians, covering their butts to make sure that they don't appear to approve of these tactics.

I dunno, maybe it's me but I still think it's a bad thing that americans in a position of power (even if they're private citizens, they're representing the US, IMO) abusing people.

I am glad that the Afghan people will get to try the people who committed the crimes, however.

This whole situation with Afghanistan and Iraq is beginning to look more and more like Quentin Tarantino had written the behind the scenes story.

Let's face it, there are some really bad guys out there who want to harm our country, dyed in the wool monsters.

It seems, however, that we have our own monsters, too.

I sure liked it better when we at least tried to be the good guys.

Yep, just a non-story somehow involving the USmilitary.

And yet another non-story concerning civilians doing the odd jobs.
