I've been hoping for some time that this lady does well in the primary today.

Not only is she an extremely cool person who has overcome much hardship and still really rocks as a person, but she's the cleanest politician I have ever known. No skeletons in her closet. Really.

She's known my beloved most of his life, having been the mother of his best buddy in high school (she may not have always liked her sons' friends, but she liked Ron). I first met her when Ron and I were dating. I probably said two words to her when we met Bernard at his folk's office before going to lunch. I think she even offered me a summer job doing data entry, but I couldn't do it since I had other commitments.

In any case, she's just one of those people you want to be around. I was thoroughly impressed with her. I wanted to grow up to BE like her. Sweet, intelligent, compassionate and determined. Sophisticated and beautiful but completely accessible, too.

Ron and her son are still close, and I have talked before about the charming Aiden (he's the little boy in the picture of Senator Stokes and her family (in the photo gallery)).

Anyway, the political bit... this woman almost makes me believe that our political system might not be as thoroughly broken as it seems. Of course, serving on the State Senate is a far cry from National politics. But still.

She sounds like quite a person!

I wish there were more politicians running who really know, by experience, what it is like to be poor.

It's not loading very quick. But I agree that I'm frustrated at how money is controlling the system. If we don't overcome it, it is more a moral offense than all the other stuff we on the right are always complaining about.

It was slow for a while but seems to have picked up loading speed. I helped edit some of the text on the site, actually. I didn't remember it until I started to read some of it. Boy, my brain is going.

It doesn't hurt my support of her that my sons are both featured in her issue posters and TV commercial. [Blushing]
