So.. yah, two weeks before graduation I got expelled, for some mishap with keys.. *tosses that aside* but anyway- I worked my arse off and I got my diploma anyway, and now i'm heading off to Southern Oregon University in Ashland to pursue theatre- I found out today and went out and bought stuff for my dorm already- I'm just excited because now I can get out of my house and not have to go to some community college or take classes to get back my credits, y'know? And also my Born Day is on the 23rd, i'm sure i'll make a post about that later too- turning 19,
anyway- anyone else going off to college? Any ex-collegerines who have hints or tips about what to do?

Anyway, my only piece of advice is to take advantage of opportunities that may not be unique to college, but are much easier to handle before you hit the real world. I'm talking about trips, extra-curriculars, etc. Keep your grades up, but don't let studying get in the way of your college experience.

Everyone says college is the best four years of your life. I don't know about best four, but my first year in college was my best so far.
Seriously...people rave about college...it's ten times better than what they say.
If anything, my only tip would be to try a little bit of everything. You might be surprised by the things you find you love.

Stay as focused on the big picture as you can manage. it doesn't matter (usually) what you get in each individual class, it matters what your overall GPA is, and even that isn't as important as some people think it is.
just finish, no matter what, even if it takes summer classes, or an extra year.
And don't let all the parting get to you too bad!

I totally agree with what fiazko said -- make use of the college experience that is MORE than academics. Do volunteering, get involved in groups, go on trips, do things that you won't have "time" for once you are out of college and tied to a job..

Make the best of the last four years before you have real responsibilities to tie you down. Unless you go for a masters program. Or med school. Or you decide to become a professional student.
That's the reason we all look back at the four years of college as the best: we had four years where our only obligation was to pass the classes, while we got to live away from home, have fun, and do most things at the expense of someone else. How can you beat four years of that?

Well . . .
I was married while I was in college -- was doing all the cooking, cleaning, etc., etc. -- and had two kids before I graduated. Never lived on campus or was "into the college scene."

Any Dormmer's know any good things to bring? I got a dry erase board for my door, but I'm still looking for more goodies to bring. So you know, I can be hip.. hahaha...

What is she going there for? I'm heading down for the theatre..- I have early registration tomorrow.. can't wait- bringing my girlfriend with me, she might go there as well for theatre- We could take her in if she's lonely.
