I need a nap--I've now been at work for 16 hours (except for a break to go home and cry and kick a couple of things). It's looking like I'll be here or until the grant gets done, or until last FedEx pickup tomorrow, whatever happens first.
That's what happens when NIH grant proposals are due around here, and your boss is a PATHETIC SLACKER who waits until the last minute to tell you he hasn't done what he said he would do--and then goes home for the night.
Whew, I feel better now (but only slightly). Can someone please give me a nap?

Okay, I no longer need a nap, I'm wide awake now.
So, my boss just walked into the lab around 6:30 this morning bright-eyed and bushy tailed and what did he say? "Oh, we're all here early today!"

Unfortunately, I might have a little trouble falling asleep right away, which is why I came to Hatrack to get my lurking fix. I'm just a bit worked up because I got pulled over for not coming to a complete stop at a four-way stop right in front of my house. I was so close, I could almost hear my bed beckoning to me, and then I saw the lights. At first, I couldn't find the registration because I'm borrowing a friend's car, but I did show him the registration for my own car (which was totalled by a drunk driver 2 weeks ago).
I must have seemed like a pathetic mess to him (even though I managed not to burst into tears!), because he let me off with a warning.

I drool when I nap too. And I often fall asleep in public. The worst time was falling asleep on the bus and waking up to find out that I had drooled all over my hand. On the bus. With other people in it.
