It is rather nuts....they ended up scheduling play on sunday (which is usually a day of rest) to make up for all the rain cancelations...and it ended up raining today too (though they did get playing done before the rain).

How about the chair umpire who gave an extra point to Sprem an extra point in her match against Venus...that was nuts. I can't believe non one caught it.

I'm watching the replay of the Dent/Roddick match now, it is a good match.

Yeah, it was a good match, and I was cheering for Dent all the way. I can't stand Roddick.

I hope Henman finally wins it this year. It seems like every year he gets to the semis, and then ends up getting eliminated by a superior player. He's great at the net, and he could win.

Other than that, I'm hoping for Hewitt to win, or Federer, and definitely not Roddick.

On the Women's side, Myskina was already eliminated, and Clijsters and Henin aren't playing. So I don't really care who wins there.

I was disappointed that Safin lost in the first round =/ - Go federer!

Dent annoys me, he just seems like a child at times. While Roddick can be annoying as well, I want to see him play Federer so I was rooting for him. Federer has shown that he can beat Roddick, but Roddick has looked good, so it should be quite a match.

Do you play Lupus? I do sometimes, and I know we live in the same city [Wink]

Thanks for reminding me this was on -- it was a family tradition, and I might have missed it.

yes, I am actually in a USTA mixed doubles league right now with my sister. I am still a bit rusty, but it is a lot of fun. I play at the westside courts on 34th street. Do you play at any of the city courts...or do you just use the SW rec center?

The skill of the players in the leagues is really rather varied, some are very bad, some are very good. There will be a new one starting up in the fall...I'll try to remember to post more info about it when it gets closer.

I haven't gotten to watch nearly as much as I would have liked. Through the week, most of the matches have been on while I'm at work, and today has been pretty busy. So with no matches played yesterday, pretty much all I've been able to see was part of the Venus/Sprem match that got re-aired yesterday, and part of Henman's match today.

I'm glad Henman eventually won. He certainly looked like he was trying to throw it away in the 3rd set and the start of the 4th.

The Frazier Sarapova game was great...Sarapova won it 6-4 7-5. The games were close...and the intensity was amazing. Frazier had a lot of trouble with her serves though, I think her final double fault count was 12 (in only 2 sets).

I have been bothered by the calls in this Wimbledon. Of course there was the messed up scorekeeping in the Williams game, a lines judge caused a point to be replayed by making noise in a game yesterday, and the chair umpire had to overrule two calls by lines judges in the Frazier Sarapova game (the points were replayed). Of course some of it is bound to happen...it just seems like there is quite a bit. It would not be as bad if it were not for the time when they screwed up the score though...I guess that one mistake make the rest stand out as well (that chair umpire was suspended).

Wow, what a match between Mauresmo and Williams. They were neck and neck all the way up the 4-4 in the 3rd set. Then Mauresmo totally botched it with a couple of weak serves. Nobody takes advantage of a weak serve like Serena Williams. During the whole match I was thinking, 'whoever wins this is going to kick Sharapova's ass in the finals.'

On the men's side, now that Henman and Hewitt are gone, I'm hoping for a Roddick-Federer final. Federer beat Roddick soundly in last year's semis, and I think he can do it again this year. They're both going for their second major, and they're both hungry, so it should be a fantastic match.

Maria Sharapova won the women's title ! I haven't seen the match, only the score & comments on eurosport.com, but this is huge ! Two Russians winning the two last Grand Slams, that's something to think about !

I just looked it up and there are 6 Russians in the first 20 women, and only 5 Americans. I wonder if there's a Russian era approaching...
