As far as I know, Mario has defeated the evil Turtle on these occasions:
NES Super Mario 1 Super Mario 2 Super Mario 3
SNES Super Mario World
N64 Super Mario 64
I don't think there is a Mario for GameCube ... Has Mario finally defeated Bowser for good?

Mario Golf (toadstool tour) Mario Kart Double Dash
(but you have to be Mario and play against Bowser)
Also, Luigi defeats Boo, who disguises himself as Bowser in Luigi's Mansion.

It wasn't Bowser in Super Mario Brothers 2 (Except in the Japanese version which is called The Lost Levels in North America).
Bowser can't hold a candle to Dr. Wily for ignoring the fact that he never wins though. There are what, a dozen Mega Man games with Dr. Wily as the bad guy? That guy needs some help.

Well, the last character match in Mario Golf is, you guessed it, Bowser.
This is a bad thing. The golfers have been getting progressively better as I unlock more challenges, Bowser will be doing impossible things.
Another game where Bowser is the final "boss".

Bowswer does, in fact, appear in Super Mario Sunshine a couple of times. He's like Ganon in the Zelda games...there's just no getting away from him.
