Has anyone besides me read this book? It was written by Mary Poppins (the actress Julie Andrews-Edwards). I was reminiscing about it. I think I need to go find it at the library or buy it for myself. I loved it and re read it oodles of times as a kid.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Where the hell were you when I was talking about this book months ago in the hopes that someone other than me has read and I wasn't just dreaming it up and my sister gave it to me years ago and yes I've read it (more than once) and even read it to my first girlfriend back in the day and I was so disappointed when I heard an interview with the author because she totally wasn't who I wanted her to be and and and...

Yes. Some of us have read it.

My sister got me to read it. I loved it! It is so, uh, British!

So are you telling me I should read it?? Is it good? What's good about it??

I'm always in the market for another good read. Especially a British one! [Wink]

Um, it is a childrens fantasy, kind of along the lines of Half Magic, though with a mostly different premise. It is substantial enough I suspect an adult would enjoy it still though I haven't read it since about 14 I think. It is an excellent book for encouraging kids to use their imaginations.

*Maybe spoilers, I don't really know*

That's the one with the proffesor and the little protal to what is basically candy-land, right? If so I recall really liking it, but I also haven't read it in long periods of time...

there was the Oily Prock.

But it wasn't exactly candy land. A great many of the creatures were somewhat dangerous. Sort of the place Hagrid would love.
