I don't think many people from Hatrack have had a look at Second Life yet, but it's quite an absorbing..... er..... game.

Basically you log in, create an avatar, buy land, chat to people, play with the modelling or scripting tools, build houses, make vehicles or clothes, create animations.... the variations are really quite stunning.

One encouraged activity is to hold events, and I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a round of Second LIfe Mafia. It could work quite well, as you can be a member of a "group" which is then appended to your avatar's handle. You can alter your costumes, chats can occur by standing around together and just typing or via more private IMs between individuals or groups...

If you want to check it out, they have a 7-day free trial, which probably isn't long enough for a mafia game, but the accounts start reasonably cheaply. I'm more than happy to modify my own property/land in game to provide a location to play in-world....

Anyway, just random thoughts on a tiring afternoon.....

I'd love to do it.

If it were possible. [Frown]

What an interesting game...

I'm nearly tempted to join in, but I'm being put off by the fact all the architectural possibilities in the game are being done by various programmers and coders. How does the building design work in game exactly?

(I'm sure I'd get into other parts of the game, but if the Arch possibilties are severely lacking, I'll get frustrated long before that happens I suspect).
