Alright, so I have been finishing up my studies by taking endless amounts of tests. On Friday, I took the math one.

Officialy, we're given 90 minutes to complete the test. In light of this, I scheduled an important doctor's appointment at 12:00. The test started at 10, so that would give me half an hour to get there.

The day of the test comes. Start the test. It's harder than I thought and I'm in a terrible rush, trying to get everything done. 11:30 comes. I still haven't finished every question. Oh well. Time's up.

Hand in paper. One of my friends asks me in bewilderment as I walk out, "You finished?" I shake my head, considering I missed several questions, and leave for my appointment.

Here's the kicker. We had an extra half hour! I didn't even find out about it until today...

[Frown]

I don't know what I should do. I'm going to tell the teacher about my situation, how I had an appointment and didn't even know about the extension. But what can I expect him to do?

Any advice?

::shrug::

What's done is done. I very much doubt that they're going to give you anything special just because you didn't know aobut the extra half an hour. You can always go talk to them, but I don't see it making much difference.

Guess you're right... [Frown]

Still, it's annoying because I knew everything on the test, it was only time pressure that kept me from finishing everything...

See, this is why you work right up until the proctor rips the pencil from your clenched sweaty fist.

This would be a good reason to not try to cram your schedule full of stuff on a given day if it can be avoided (I don't know if you just wanted extra free time that day or not). Just give yourself some extra time after your tests in the future (if nothing else, you won't be as tense then).

I'd go talk to the teacher, but since there has been some significant time since you took the test, they will likely not let you complete the test.

Your advice is solid. I'll see the teacher tommorow and post what happens.

Nothing left besides that, accept what happens, and live on.

Eh, this isn't that importnat in the grand scheme of things, anyway. [Smile]

Alright, I saw him today. I didn't fail, but I did quite poorly. But...after a mini-breakdown, he let me work an extra 10 minutes on it!

That extra time let me clean up a lot of areas and will probably really boost my grade up.

Most of us teachers are really big softies if we can tell a student truly cares..
