At EnderCon, after "The Polish Boy" reading, there was the Star Party (you know, where all the dorky PWeb kids were singing campfire songs [Wink] ).

Well, I had gotten myself pretty drunk before the reading. Well, actually, during. We brought in Gatorade bottles which were actually half vodka (there's another adventure story about our attempt to find a liquor store in Utah, but that's for a different thread).

Anyway, I was in no shape to drive to the Star Party, so my cousin and I somehow met a guy who was driving up there. I have no idea what his name was, or where he was from. Maybe Jersey. Or Texas.

On the way back to town from the Star Party, there was a sharp curve in the road, and we skidded off the road into a big bush, almost hitting a tree. We got out to inspect the damage, which turned out to be just a few scratches. "Good thing it's a rental.", he said.

My point? Is this mystery man any of you Hatrackers? (And would you admit it? [Wink] ) Or will this surreal experience remain a mystery for the rest of my days?

He sounds much like me, but alas, it was not...

Frisco, you were at EnderCon?

I was.

Katie, I was thinking the same thing. [Smile]

And I was one of those dorky Pweb "kids" singing at the star party. [Razz] [ROFL]

Heh. And now that I think about it, I remember meeting a few people at the Star Party, but it was so dark, it was only voices.

Oh, the mystery man behind me?

All right. I was that guy reading "The Polish boy" to you all.

You could've been. The memory's a bit hazy to me.

I'm curious as to why you haven't brought this up before, it's been, what, 2 years now?

[EDIT: and no, it was not me, I was with my mother and we would've noticed picking up strange, drunk people [Razz] ]

Just something I thought about when sndrake brought up the idea of a Surreal Hatracker.

That guy, to me, would totally be one. [Smile]

Also, I forgot. You'd be amazed at all the things you can forget when you get a good, hard drunk on. One morning, I woke up at a strange apartment and everyone was calling me Rico.

Anyway, I'm gonna bump this until one of you guys fesses up.

It was ME!
[Razz]

Seriously, when is something like this going to happen again? By that I mean something like EnderCon.

Oh we have those every once in a while. We just don't invite you. Ever wonder why some weekends get so slow?

This was an older guy with a moustache and goatee, no? Might have been wearing glasses?

I heard there was something like that planned for Chicago.

*eyes Mabus suspiciously*

Glasses? Yeah, I think so. Older? 30s, maybe. Don't remember facial hair or lack thereof. Why?

*snicker* I was suggesting you had been helped out by OSC and hadn't recognized him...a silly idea, I know, which is why I suggested it.
