I have a problem with my computer... I installed symnatec antivirus a while ago, and ever since whenever I start my computer it has to sit for about five minutes. It won't start until it shows an error message about how NT On-Access Scanner won't work. Anyone know how I can get rid of this thing?

What's happening is that Norton's AV scanner is trying to run, and is failing. You can "get rid of it" by uninstalling it, or by trying to fix the problem with the installation by REINSTALLING it, provided it's the correct version. (The "NT" bit has me slightly concerned, to be honest; what version of NAV are you running?)

I don't have Norton... I have McAffee and Symnatec. Is it McAffee that's the problem?

Symantec is Norton. [Smile] And you cannot run two different brands of virus scanner at the same time successfully. If you're already running McAfee's On-Access Scan, you will not be able to run Symantec's On-Access Scan.

What Tom said,
When Mcafee and Norton are on the same computer that's what happens, either uninstall one or the other (whichever you're most comfortable with).
