I am leaving for Russia soon, expanding my family, doing a thousand things to get my life reordered, and you post this?

Thanks. Now I have one more thing on my mind.

I hope your happy.

Mind you, have you ever thought of the advantages of penis enlargement?

just for that, I'm making Mack the hero of my story.

Of course, my heroic Mack may not be anything like our Mack, but that doesn't matter.

Posted by mackillian (Member # 586) on :

Pfft. I'm anything but heroic. We all know THAT.

*nods solemnly*

Okay, Jamie, you know that the real heroic stories always start with a hero that doesn't know/admit that s/he's a hero, right? I mean, you HAVE a degree. In English. You've at least SLEPT on a Lit book.

Sheesh.

Anyway, I've signed up, but I don't know if I am a judge or a participant yet. See, I want to write something all fanwanky about vampires (the theme is "Night" this time), but I am also lazy. And I like to read other people's stuff. So, you know, a choice needs to be made. By Jamie. Cuz she's the boss an' stuff.

Also: no, I will not go on AIM. I have to start dinner. I was on earlier, where were you? Pshht to you anyway. [Smile]

You're writing, Jen. So there.

And those lit books left nice creases on my face.

i still think the last contest winner should be the judge. seems only fair to remove that remarkable writing talent from the pool rather than just hand them ribbon after ribbon after ribbon.

Posted by mackillian (Member # 586) on :

Well, if you're volunteering...

Posted by celia60 (Member # 2039) on :

if it means not writing, i'm volunteering. spent a lot of the weekend thinking and didn't come up with anything worth fleshing out.

Posted by mackillian (Member # 586) on :

Okay. Celia is now the judge.

I could have some fun with the must-include line, but I can't see myself using "night" effectively as a theme... I think summertime has de-nightified my brain.

Posted by eslaine (Member # 5433) on :

Funny, I have the opposite problem. I probably won't use the line very creatively. I'll try to throw it in, but it will be out of place in the story....

Posted by Dan_raven (Member # 3383) on :

Try the classic.

"It was a dark and stormy night."

or

"He was a dark and stormy knight, the moody Sir Render." if you want that time of knight.

Posted by twinky (Member # 693) on :

How deeply does it have to be entertwined with the story to qualify as a "theme?"

Posted by mackillian (Member # 586) on :

Your discretion.

Posted by twinky (Member # 693) on :

Hm. Okay. Are there any other rules (aside from the deadline) that I should be aware of?

Posted by mackillian (Member # 586) on :

Don't think so. Just theme, lines, length, deadline.

Posted by advice for robots (Member # 2544) on :

You can't use "e". Right mack?

Posted by mackillian (Member # 586) on :

That's your special rule.

Posted by advice for robots (Member # 2544) on :

How'd you know?!

You are going to post all the entries somewhere, right?

Posted by mackillian (Member # 586) on :

on Madowl.

Posted by twinky (Member # 693) on :

OK.

Well, you never know. I might actually get something done before the deadline. Stranger things have happened [Wink]
