loomphaliphobia--fear of cutting one's belly button.

I coined that one myself, actually, but it's etymologically correct.

you can't coin a word unless webster agrees [Big Grin]

Can you cobble one together out of existing Attic Greek words? For, say, cut, belly button, and fear?

Posted by kaioshin00 (Member # 3740) on :

To tell you the truth, I can't answer that, because i have the fear of cobblling together new words out of existing Attic Greek words.

Actually, the contrary is necessarily true. You can't coin a word if Webster agrees, for if he agrees, then the word has already been coined.

Maybe you have to write a letter petitioning Mr. Webster, and if he agrees to your coinage, it's included in his next edition.

If you get an answer from Mr. Webster, call the Inquirer.
