The thread on the Chronicles of Amber got me wondering if any other adults have read the Princess Diaries series. My fiance's daughter made me read them and now I am hooked. I'm 30 years old and still identify with Mia's teen angst and problems. I laugh out loud at parts. Maybe I find them so funny because I teach high school and I am around teenagers all day.

I love them, but then, I hang around tweens and teens all day, too!

I also love them b/c I went to college with so many kids just like those kids - blindly uber-liberal and unbelievably spoiled at the same time.

The movie was great -- Anne Hathaway is terrific. I think there's a sequal coming out, too...

Yes! Lily cracks me up. I can't decide if Meg Cabot is liberal or just making fun of liberals.

It's become sort of a bonding experience between me and my fiance's daughter. With his other daughter I am reading a Series of Unfortunate Events.

I also love how Mia freaks out over the silliest things. I love her lists of things to do. And her homework reminders.

Yeah, Kasie. There are 5 books in the series so far. The movie changed the book quite a bit. In fact, the third or fourth book talks about the movie. Cabot is quite witty.
