1. Go to Apple site. 2. Click to download Quicktime. 3. Fill out little questionaire. 4. Click Download Quicktime. 5. Jump to Download iTunes page and begin downloading iTunes.
!!!!!!!!! Is there something wrong with the Quicktime download? I couldn't get it to work last night either.

In the upper left corner, under "Download the free player," there's a set of radio buttons. Make sure you select "Win 98/Me/2000/XP," not "QuickTime and iTunes for Windows 2000/XP" (which is the default option, of course).

I ran into this last week. When you get to the page where you enter your e-mail address, look at the options up top. The default one checked (if you have a Windows machine) is for "QuickTime and iTunes for Windows 2000/XP." Check the one above it, "Win 98/Me/2000/XP," to just download Quicktime by itself.
(edited to add: Eek! Typed too slow...)
