Troub...

maybe I've been mainlining too much e.e. cummings, but that's an awesome post.

[Big Grin] Thanks Kat.

I felt more like I was mainlining "Ocean's Eleven" but I'll take whatever I can get at this point.... [Wink]

Hey, Troubs, that was an awesome Ocean's 11 reference.

No. I'm not paranoid about vast objects from space hitting the earth.

I'm paranoid about killer bioagents that will infect and destroy the tissue of every living creature.

Yeah, I've been working hard on a few sideline projects that have kept me from all but lurk-status....

Would love to post more, but just too busy to do anything else.

I'll have a grand-unveiling soon tho. [Big Grin]

DANG IT!

I was aiming for Sydney!

Friggin' laser tracking got thrown off at the last minute when Super-K nudged my elbow.

Now this raises an interesting question, what's most likely to wipe out the human race? Killer virus? Space rock? Judgement Day? (Either the biblical or the evil robot version. Or perhaps a melange of the two.) Brittany Spears? Global Warming? Nuclear Winter? (Assuming the Nuclear Summer didn't do the job) Aliens that aren't susceptible to attack-by-Mac? SARS?

Scott.

Well..if I'm going to be 'wiped-out' by any of the above...I guess I'll vote for Britney Spears. [Wink]

I thought Brittany Spears was an alien sent here to destroy the earth. [Wink]

Posted by katharina (Member # 827) on :

People, please. It's "Britney".

Ok, is it just me, or is Australia actually Babylon?

Locusts? Fireballs?

Posted by Amka (Member # 690) on :

First, we have Britney Spears being a role model for our children.

Then we have have global warming.

This makes for an ideal place for mutation, causing SARS and other killer viruses. This will continue through the scenario.

Edit: this will also cause an increase the grasshopper population. They'll morph into the locusts that destroy crops.

At the same time, we become ever more dependent on our computers and robotic machines to do our work. These continue to evolve. One of them becomes the Anti-Christ and all humans will be required to have an identity chip implanted into them.

There will be some hold outs. They will fight. They will use nuclear weapons in an attempt to destory the evil machines. It won't be as destructive as the US/USSR no win situation, but it will cause a nuclear winter.

Then aliens will lob an asteroid at us. This will be the burning fireball and will cause a great fire storm to cover all the earth.

At that point, the righteous will be taken up and the wicked will be doomed to a burning hell.

I hate posting on April Fool's Day, but. . .

http://www.space.com/scienceastronomy/chicken_little_031001.html

Seems like it's been a problem for more than just Australia.

quote:
A host of mostly coincidental recent events make Chicken Little sound ever-so-slightly more credible. In the past eight days, stuff falling from space rocked a village in India and a bathroom in Louisiana, while lighting up the skies over the San Francisco Bay area, Europe and Australia.
Also about the Austalia thingy. . .

quote:
Another bright and fiery object was seen in the night sky over Australia this past weekend, near the time of the Indian meteorite. No connection between the two has been made. An official in Australia said, however, that manmade space junk may have caused the curious event spotted from south of Queensland.
