People have often complained about the lack of artwork and photographs in the artwork and photographs section of my web site. Well, I'm proud to announce that now they have no reason to complain (unless they want to complain about the quality of the artwork and photographs, which is an entirely different issue).
The photos are here, and the artwork is here. There really still isn't much of either, especially photos, but at least I'm making progress, right?

Sadly, I can't take credit for those.

Jon, those are yours then? I really appreciate you sharing your artwork! Looks very nice. Cool idea on the self portrait!

Where was the engagment picture taken? Looks like Southern Utah territory.

Yes, those are all mine. But what do you mean, cool idea on the self-portrait? It's just a self-portrait. Or are you talking about the mannequins?
Hobbes, the engagement picture was taken in Little Wild Horse Canyon, which is somewhere in the vicinity of Green River (so yes, it's southern Utah).

Nice stuff, JB.

Thanks, Storm.

The photo doesn't work. Link does but the photo shows up as a red 'x'.
I took Annie's picture in that canyon, but none of us together. We do have some (hopefully) stunning shots of us together in Southern Utah, the slid film will be turned in for processing in about a week, but unfortunatly I wont have acess to the devloped film, so pictures may not appear for a couple months.

Hmm. Why isn't it working? I uploaded it, and it's showing up on the remote server. On my computer, I get a big white box that says "Requested file exceeds 256KB." Bizarre.

I have a feeling "knobs" is going to show up on photoshop phriday.
Posted by beverly (Member # 6246) on :
Yeah, I meant the maniquins. They are titled as "Self Portrait". Very cool.
Posted by Hobbes (Member # 433) on :
The best part, MR, is I took my family's picture and Anneke's together ontop of a place in Capitol Reef National Park called "Navoj Knobs".

Did you do those life drawings at BYU or the near vicinity? It seems like it because the models are wearing clothes.
Your stuff is good though. I think your sketch of the hand is awesome.

Y'know, when you wrote "not much" in your heading, I thought you were referring to the quality of your work, rather than the quantity. After seeing the art, though, I can safely say that although the quantity may not be great, the quality sure is.

I think the burning man is still my favorite. It would be an avatar somewhere if I could link to it.
Posted by Jon Boy (Member # 4284) on :
Yes, all the figure drawings took place in my figure drawing class at BYU (except the girl's face, which was in my art class in my senior year of high school).

Jon Boy - I tried and got the following message
quote: The website you have requested has exceeded its daily bandwidth quota of 56MB and has been temporarily de-activated.
Tut Tut Tut -
Glad I checked them out yesterday - unless you'd updated since then
Posted by Jon Boy (Member # 4284) on :
Yeah, I just noticed that, too. I didn't even realize I had a daily bandwidth limit. I guess that's what I get for uploading so much stuff and then telling everyone to go look at it.
Posted by larisse (Member # 2221) on :
*waits patiently for the bandwidth to return*
Can't wait to see the photos and drawings. Hatrack gathers such talented folks into it's folds.
Posted by Shameless Self-Promotion (Member # 4919) on :
*bump*
Problem's fixed.
Posted by cochick (Member # 6167) on :
Hey - if that self portrait was accurate you could have played Harry Potter - if you'd still been that age anyway
You're very talented - thanks for sharing

Yeah, until I was about nineteen or twenty, I looked quite a bit younger than I really was. Then I finally grew up enough so that I looked like my real age.
Posted by cochick (Member # 6167) on :
aha - but did you ever get round to acting it?
Posted by Shameless Self-Promotion (Member # 4919) on :
Occasionally, though I think an important part of being an adult is remembering to act like a kid every now and then.
Posted by cochick (Member # 6167) on :
only way to keep sane

*bump for those who were waiting for the site to come back up*
I've changed the layout a bit and added a couple things, too.
