Just got an e-mail today from my mother-in-law, who lives in Arizona. Apparently there was a pretty major winter storm that hit near her home last week. She said some people stayed home and that she believes most schools were apparently cancelled. It really made her cherish the usual balmy climate, and said it reminds her not to take life for granted.

She sent a rather disturbing picture of the storm damage she could see from a neighbor's house.

So, you Arizona folks gonna brave the weather and have your gathering this weekend anyway?

We had a bad thunderstorm, but that's all I can recall recently. No schools were cancelled, as far as I know. Thunderstorms are pretty normal for this time of year.

I don't have a very good memory, though.

In any case, the weather has been AWESOME here. Mid-70's for the past week or so. Phoenix is usually about twenty degrees hotter, though, so they may begin to shrivel up any day now...

Heh, so that E-mail finally got around to you, eh Pop? When I got it, it had the caption "Caution: Graphic content" attached to it. And the storms in the summer do get violent, but as for the ones a few weeks ago, I'd be surprised if they did even that much damage.

And yes, is has been around 90 here for the past two weeks. But what Dag didn't mention is that 90 here, with no humidity to speak of, it pretty much perfect. It looks like 90 again for the Bunching tomoorow, so it should be pretty near perfect.

I didn't say perfect, I said pretty much perfect. Perfect would be about 80 or so after sunset.

90 is very comfortable with no humidity, a breeze, and a bit of shade. For anything sort of physical labor, it really is quite enjoyable. Keep in mind I just left a city where it's pretty much normal to be 90 during the day, 40 at night, and up to 45 the next day. This sort of two weeks of consistency is really a marvelous thing to me.
