I'm very, very sad. He was my great uncle. He was a great man.

He was born May 7, 1933. He was the youngest of four boys...the oldest being my grandfather.

His wife, Dorothy, has been ill for quite some time. Last time I saw him was the the family reunion we had last summer. He seemed healthy then.

Apparently, Aunt Dorothy called Grandma on Saturday. The nurse had told her that it would be 2-5 days. He wieghed less than 70 pounds and had bedsores. [Frown]

I have a lot of fond memories of Uncle Sterling. He always treated me like I was grown up, even when I was four. He never graduated high school, married and had children young, and then worked hard to earn TWO PHDs.

::sigh:: [Frown] [Frown]

No idea on a funeral or anything yet, but I'm going if I can. I feel like I need to say goodbye to the "old bald geezer".

Sorry...inside joke... [Frown]
