I am attempting to cross-breed some musical genres to make a new kind of song.

I'm going mix swing and island/reggae type music.

Some of the instruments I plan to use:

Guitar
Mandolin
Shakers
Drums
Trombone
Vocals
Keyboard

And I plan to mix some island sounds on top of it. Ocean sounds, forest sounds, etc.

Wish me luck! This is going to be hard as...yeah.

Wow.

<----Is shocked.

That was surprisingly easier than I imagined.

I kept it simple. The entire song uses the same licks for each intstrument. I just bring in different instruments and pieces at different times. All in all, i think it will be unbelievably awesome.

Now I just need to put it together and record it.

Also, does anyone know where I might be able to get some island type sounds that I'd legally be able to put as a track in my music? I was thinking along the lines of a rainforest or something.

Of course Janelle. No live performances with this one though. I'd have to have 9 people playing at once.
