Putting the FOOD back into BOOKS, FILMS, FOOD and AMERICAN CULTURE.

So? I'm eatin' a Ham 'n' Cheese hotpocket with a cup o' milk. Does a body good, yessiree.

Wow. Now I'm craving something really salty. Thanks a lot, Taalcon.

Today I took a break from the peanut butter sandwich/hot dog/pizza diet to eat chicken in a creamy goat cheese & white wine sauce with sun-dried tomatoes (my friend works at a restaurant and saved some for me). I am currently drinking pepsi. I will probably die young from malnutrition.

Normally I'm lazy and just grab a slice of ham, grab a slice of cheese, smack 'em together, and munch. I'm lazy to the core.

I just had some Pocky for a snack when I got home, and soon we'll be having salmon cakes for dinner. Probably with some kind of veggie, but I'm not sure what yet.

Yum!

So am I, Taalcon, so am I. I ate well today because someone else made it for me [Big Grin] . There will always be a place in my heart (and my stomach) for ham sandwiches and Kraft Dinner.

Right now nothing, but in an hour or so I shall be eating Ramen noodles, and drinking either a 7up or water.

Hmmm....I had leftover pizza for lunch. Then a little later I had some Dolce de Leche ice cream.

Fat, fat, fat. [Big Grin]

And I had a cup of coffee, and some ginger tea. [Smile]

Oh Vána! I love Pocky! Trying to be good though so I am having a turkey burger and oven fries. I can dream of Pocky....Coconut Pocky is the best!

Bernard just made me some questionable dinner involving ground pork, zucchini, cream corn, and some other random things. It looked highly suspicious, but turned out not only edible but fairly good.

Yes, I'm a college student (does that explain anything?) It's either rice or ramen for this gal.

Japanese-style curry rice. House-brand or S&B, it doesn't matter. Yummm!

Homemade stuffed potato with lots of cheese built into it, and a melting layer of chedder on top. ohh, yummmmmmy

Celery!

mmmm... celery.

I just got done making colored chocolate creations. First was a 13x9 Visa card that I made by pouring out colored white chocolate onto wax paper. With the leftover blue, I made little blue blobs and labelled them "squished smurfs." With the leftover white and yellow, I made chocolate fried eggs.

I didn't eat any of that though - I simply labelled it and left it in the refrigerator to surprise my roommates. I did lick my fair share of blue spoons, though.

chicken pasta dish (experimental leftovers) and lemonade.

mm.... not a good aesthetic at the moment and the weather can't decide between sunshine and gusty winds spotted with raindrops.

I am craving an apple martini with salt. Sure, when I go out with people I order Grey Goose Vodka Tonic, but secretly, I realy want an apple martini. Now you see why I hate gender roles! [Big Grin]

A cup of tea (mmm, tea). Bacon, fried egg and sweet chilli sauce on toasted damper.

Cholesterol, what cholesterol?

Ben & Jerry's brownie batter ice cream...mmmmm

Posted by imogen (Member # 5485) on :

Damper is bread - traditionally made over a bushfire, just flour and water made into a goo then wrapped around a stick.

It started off as an Aboriginal food: the bush version tastes best with wild honey poured down the hole where the stick was, and eaten punishingly hot.

*yum*

However the damper roll I had was a commercial one, that I'm pretty sure they used yeast in... Still the same kinda crumbly texture though.

For dinner, I had a Key Lime yoplait, a French Vanilla yoplait, a banana, and a spoonful of Godiva chocolate ice cream. And a caffiene-free diet Dr. Pepper.

I'm thinking of making a peanut butter and jelly sandwhich.

I just got back from a Mediterranean tapas place where I had lots of interesting foods that are Atkins friendly.

And I had some of the best restaurant coffee to be had in Orlando.

When in Orlando, definitely try out Cafe Tu Tu Tango.

Dr Pepper, and I just finished some popcorn chicken.

A cat is also sitting on my lap, but I swear that has no connection to this topic.

I'm feeling kind of sick right now, but earlier I had rotini alfredo with grilled pork chop. Roomie and I enjoy cooking. The pork was supposed to be chicken, but for the second time in a week I have mistaken the pork for chicken. And roomie makes a killer alfredo sauce. [Smile]

For dinner I had a freshly grilled bbq sausage sandwich from the bbq company i work for, as well as a fresh cookie and brownie from work as well. And one of Rockland's own rootbeers to wash it all down.

Yumdelish!

I'm trying a brand of sunflower seeds I've never tried before. They're Spitz. They're okay, but they don't have as much salt as I usually like (which is probably a good thing, because it doesn't make the inside of my mouth as sore quite so quickly). I still prefer David's. The percentage of bad seeds seems to be about the same.
