I couldn't make it to ANY of this weekend's gatherings. So here I sit, waiting to call in.

Then I realized, I'm here holding down the fort with all of the rest of you who couldn't go either.

Yay us!

So, let's pretend we're actually AT a Hatrack gathering right now.

"I'm next in the bathroom!!!!"

Seriously!

Posted by Boon (Member # 4646) on :

No, Bob, as the pregnant lady with a bladder the size of a peanut, I get exclusive bathroom rights. You'll just have to go find a bush outside! [Razz]

Posted by Bob_Scopatz (Member # 1227) on :

Bows to superior arguments...

<goes off to bushes...>

Posted by Dead_Horse (Member # 3027) on :

I'm not anywhere, either. Pass the chips and salsa, please.
*pops the top on a caffeine-free Coke Classic and settles into comfy chair*

Posted by Derrell (Member # 6062) on :

Bob, your house only has one bathroom? Should we watch a movie, play a game, or just talk? Anybody got any chocolate?

Posted by Bob_Scopatz (Member # 1227) on :

<chips>

<salsa>

MMMMMMM

Lookin' good there. Want some Queso?

Posted by Marek (Member # 5404) on :

why can't we have the gathering without actually gathering?

I mean we have chat, bored games, and can see eachother(at least many of us are in some pictures at foobonic). We should plan a time for those who could not go to get to gethers to invade chat, overrun games.com, and post like crazy here, so when the people who did go get back they can all regret missing it (well they might regret it).

Oh well, at leat the virtual queso is good.

o_0

<sets out another bowl of Queso.>

I gotta run to the store. Anyone need anything?

Posted by Derrell (Member # 6062) on :

Something chocolate would be nice. M&Ms, Butterfingers, or some Hershey's kisses. Thanks Bob.

Posted by Marek (Member # 5404) on :

I have some of those peanutbutter and choclate hearts left over from Valentine's day if anyone wants those.

Posted by sndrake (Member # 4941) on :

Cape Cod Low Fat potato chips!

**A word about these - they are not one of those vile olestra products. They're about 40% lower in fat and calories than the regular chips.

I don't eat them because they're healthy, though. I eat them because they are better than regular potato chips. Less greasy, really crispy and so I eat twice as many of them as I would regular chips.

I could tell myself I eat them because they're healthier, but I'm not gullible enough to fall for that, especially when trying to convince myself. [Wink]

*sigh* potato chips...

Ah, well. Back to work.

Posted by Narnia (Member # 1071) on :

Hey Bob, where's your projector? It's time to watch a movie.

*makes her famous spicy cheese dip*

Posted by Derrell (Member # 6062) on :

I don't think Bob's back from the store, yet. What movie are we watching?

Posted by Narnia (Member # 1071) on :

Don't talk with your mouth full Derrell! [No No]

[Wink]

I don't know, are you guys sick of the Fellowship EE? That would be a fun one. X-2 is also a favorite.

Posted by Derrell (Member # 6062) on :

Sorry, Narnia. Fellowship sounds good to me. Then we can watch X2

Posted by sndrake (Member # 4941) on :

Do we know if Bob has fussy rules about spilling things on the leather sofa? Might be good to know in advance.

I never plan on spilling things, but I'm not exactly surprised when it happens.

Posted by mackillian (Member # 586) on :

*moons room*

Posted by sndrake (Member # 4941) on :

**And a shocked silence filled the room**

And then everybody shrugged, because it's Mack.
At least she hasn't flipped us off.

[Big Grin]

In the meantime, darn it - I spilled my coffee loaded with cream and there are greasy potato chip crumbs working their way into the crevasses of Bob's leather sofa.

Posted by JonnyNotSoBravo (Member # 5715) on :

*indulges in Narnia's spicy cheese dip* Wow, it's rare that you get to see the moon in the middle of the day. And it's so full and white!

Posted by Derrell (Member # 6062) on :

Nice moon, mack. Can we see it again? [Wink]

Posted by mackillian (Member # 586) on :

--I--

Posted by sndrake (Member # 4941) on :

And I said:

quote:
At least she hasn't flipped us off.

I left out the all-important word "yet."

[Smile]

Miss you all, hatrack. [Wave]

I'm in Canada, I lost my big warm muffler, and I'm off to visit my delightful (but intense, as in migraine-inducing complexity) mother-in-law.

Fortified with a little red wine and a few minutes of Hatrack, I think I'll cope.

Mack's jolly flash helps. At least there are giggles in the world. *grin

Posted by Narnia (Member # 1071) on :

LOTS of Red Wine. [Smile] Just kidding. I'm Mormon. *snicker*

We'll get you on video conference and you can eat cheese dip and watch movies with us from Canada!!

Posted by Dead_Horse (Member # 3027) on :

Uhngh. *blink blink* Sorry, I fell asleep.. What'd I miss?

Posted by Elizabeth (Member # 5218) on :

Ew, look what's in this drawer!

Posted by imogen (Member # 5485) on :

Hey y'all - sorry I'm late!

I brought home-made guacamole... and tortilla chips.

*sits down with guacamole and tortilla chips firmly in front of her*

Posted by Annie (Member # 295) on :

mmm...... can't argue with that imogen. Good stuff!

I brought some hummus and pitas.

And grape juice and dark chocolate - my new favorite thing in the world.

Dig in, folks!

It's not nice to be looking in your host's drawers!

Posted by Elizabeth (Member # 5218) on :

D_H,
I couldn't resist. His drawers were open.

Posted by Valentine014 (Member # 5981) on :

My tongue is still swollen from the hole I put through it, but I'll have some ice cream if there is any.

AND I brought my copy of Return of the King (don't ask). [Monkeys]

Posted by Bob_Scopatz (Member # 1227) on :

Funny thing happened on the way to the store. Well, not really funny, as in odd or peculiar. More like interesting but not overly so. In fact, forget I mentioned it.

Suffice it to say, however, that while I DID get the chocolate and Cape Cod chips (yum!!!), I also ended up purchasing various amusements to really get this party going.

Let's see, we got Twister but someone's removed the little pointer/spinner thing, so we'll have to just make up colors and names of appendages to shout out.

We got a double-wide Slip N' Slide with a large rip about 3/4 of the way down.

There's two of those 3-D puzzles. One is of Notre Dame and the other is the Parthenon. Unfortunately, they're mixed together.

And I bought a flip chart and some colored markers if we want to do Pictionary.

Okay. It's all lame.

Let's watch a movie.

And what the @#$%^!@# did you do to my couch?

Oh well, PSI Teleport can come sniff it later and give us her evaluation.

So, what'll it be? I've got Ol' Yeller and Shane on DVD.

Posted by pooka (Member # 5003) on :

I started my day thinking I had a get together, but I'm kind of unreliable. Anyone mind if I breastfeed in here? [Wink]

Posted by mackillian (Member # 586) on :

His drawers were open.
[Eek!]

WHICH drawers? Couldn't you just say XYZ?

Posted by Bob_Scopatz (Member # 1227) on :

pooka...depends...who are you going to breastfeed?

I mean, I don't really want lines forming in here...

[Evil Laugh]

The next woman who gets into my drawers better be ready to marry me.

Posted by Elizabeth (Member # 5218) on :

Oh my GOODNESS, Mack! How could you even think I was thinking those kinds of drawers!?!?

Posted by sndrake (Member # 4941) on :

quote:
And what the @#$%^!@# did you do to my couch?

**Am thinking it's not a good time to ask how he feels about boogers in the upholstery**

Thanks for the Cape Cod chips!

I brought some XXXX-sharp cheddar and some triscuits.

(Averting eyes, hoping someone will tell Bob to close his drawers.)

Posted by Da_Goat (Member # 5529) on :

Argh, and I even missed the party for the people who missed a party.

Posted by Bob_Scopatz (Member # 1227) on :

Welcome Da_Goat...you're just in time for sheep dip.

[Big Grin]

The Utahns called me! [Big Grin]

Posted by Narnia (Member # 1071) on :

What about XXXX rated movies? [Smile]

Just kidding. I'm Mormon. (I seem to keep saying that today!)

Shane. Bob, we should definitely watch Shane. And sorry about your couch. [Razz]

Posted by cochick (Member # 6167) on :

This had to be the funest thread I've read in ages - darn being in another time zone on the other side of the world - I missed the party!

Posted by imogen (Member # 5485) on :

You're not too late! Look, I brought guacamole... have some!

Hey, it's late. Have some wine as well. [Smile]

Posted by Derrell (Member # 6062) on :

Bob, we can fix the Slip & Slide. Got any duct tape. We tape the underside of it. Good as new.

Posted by Bob_Scopatz (Member # 1227) on :

Duct tape??? Of course I've got duct tape. What color would you like?

Name me one American who doesn't have a roll of duct tape on hand. It's like not having a dog or something.

Hey! Come back! Darn, the dog thought we were going to duct tape her...again.

Sorry Smokey!

Posted by Derrell (Member # 6062) on :

Bob [ROFL]

I figure the duct tape should match the Slip & Slide.

Do you duct tape your dog often? [Eek!] [Big Grin]

Posted by imogen (Member # 5485) on :

Sure he does. Just not as much as his hamster.

Posted by rivka (Member # 4859) on :

Since when does Bob have a hamster?

Posted by Derrell (Member # 6062) on :

How do you get a hamster to sit still long enough to duct tape it? [Wink]

Posted by Derrell (Member # 6062) on :

woo hoo! I got the first post on the second page. Now where's that chocolate?

Posted by imogen (Member # 5485) on :

Here it is - have a Hersheys. Or if you'd prefer, I have some proper french chocolate.

In fact, let's share it round - everyone, chocolate's up!

Posted by rivka (Member # 4859) on :

*sniffs disdainfully*

'Proper' chocolate is Swiss! Here, have some.

Posted by imogen (Member # 5485) on :

Aw, c'mon. They share a border.

Though if you have swiss toblerone, I'm not arguing.

[Big Grin]

Posted by rivka (Member # 4859) on :

Hah! Like I'd share my Toblerones with y'all!

Um, I mean . . . nope, sorry, the Toblerone's all gone. How about some Alprose or Schmerling?

Posted by imogen (Member # 5485) on :

*chants* Toblerone! Toblerone! Toblerone! Toblerone! Toblerone! Toblerone! Toblerone! Toblerone!

I just want the 'ne' bit...

Posted by Derrell (Member # 6062) on :

Hey, no fighting over who makes the best chocolate. Just pass it around. MMMM! Chocolate. [Big Grin]

Posted by rivka (Member # 4859) on :

You'll take 'any' bit? Good. Here, have the French stuff. [Big Grin]

Posted by Bob_Scopatz (Member # 1227) on :

quote:
Since when does Bob have a hamster?
Oh, he's just passing through. AREN'T YOU, hamster boy?

quote:
How do you get a hamster to sit still long enough to duct tape it?
The trick is to use a big piece at the start and just slap it on down there.

Oh, and bribing him with chocolate works too.

Here hamster! Here hamster!

Posted by imogen (Member # 5485) on :

I hear Rivka's got some Toblerone she's passing around.. I'm sure the hamster would go for that.

Posted by rivka (Member # 4859) on :

*sweetly* imogen, does the word "impeach" mean anything to you? How about "depose"?

Posted by Elizabeth (Member # 5218) on :

As for the couch problem, Bob, you might want to read the "what kids put in their noses" thread for some answers. Sorry.

Posted by sndrake (Member # 4941) on :

Well, it seems to me that the "what kids put up their noses" thread needs a companion one, titled "what kids do with the things they find in their noses."

Or maybe there are things we are all better off NOT knowing.

Or (ouch) nosing.

Sorry about the couch, Bob.

Not that I take any responsibility - I'm just sorry. [Wink]

""what kids do with the things they find in their noses."

That is fine, Sndrake. I would just change the "do" to "did, and "find" to "found."

Posted by sndrake (Member # 4941) on :

I refuse to get caught up in finger pointing.

At least until I go find a kleenex...

Posted by Anthro (Member # 6087) on :

I've got potato salad, slightly burnt.

*scarfs down all of Rivka's Toblerones* Thanks. Love that chocolate.

Posted by Dead_Horse (Member # 3027) on :

I hope it's German potato salad.

Here's some grilled tuna salad sandwiches and grilled cheese sandwiches.

Posted by Bob_Scopatz (Member # 1227) on :

How do you burn potato salad? [Eek!]

I've decided I no longer care about the couch. But would you all please stop trying to turn my dining room table into kindling? It's like 73 degrees outside anyway!!!

Oh wait, is that Toblerone?

All is right with the world.

<bliss>

Posted by Elizabeth (Member # 5218) on :

"Oh wait, is that Toblerone?"

Are you looking for Toblerone in your drawers again, Bob?

Posted by Shan (Member # 4550) on :

*Pulls up in her brand new Toyota Tacoma with homemade chocolate chip cookies*

May I play? Sorry I'm late . . . [Smile]

Posted by Bob_Scopatz (Member # 1227) on :

What the heck IS Toblerone anyway? And who took my chain mesh underwear? [Mad] I was saving that for a rainy day.

[Big Grin]

Shan, nice truck. Are those ATKINS-friendly cookies?

Posted by Shan (Member # 4550) on :

Absolutely friendly cookies, Bob -

wanna go for a spin in my truck????? The radio actually works . . . (giggle)

I'll be the designated driver.

I still think we should watch Shane. [Wink]

I think we should watch Shan... She's awfully suspicious with that new truck, you know...

Posted by imogen (Member # 5485) on :

[ROFL] at CT's post.

Yep, I'm still laughing. Or groaning. Or something.

Oh, by the way - Belgium.

Posted by Bob_Scopatz (Member # 1227) on :
