Fresh asparagus, lightly seasoned with lemon juice and steamed to delightful perfection.

Baked potatoe with real butter.

Baked chicken, seasoned with garlic and sage.

Delightful. Simple and filling.

I will turn the leftovers into soup.

Ummmmm. Nummy.

(Just thought I'd share. [Smile] By the way, Nathan loves asparagus. I've never known a child to even tolerate asparagus before - isn't that something?)

Is there Dukakis in your bloodline?

Dinner sounds good, though, and I'm not a fan of asparagus.

Butter is perfectly acceptable . . .

and I NEVER vote any party member, no matter what you think of my spelling!

That was Dan Quayle, not Dukakis.

Oh, and I had a tri-tip sandwich and a baked potato for my (very early) dinner. [Smile]

Thank you. I knew Dukakis didn't sound right, but it was from around the same time, right? [Blushing]

Some children never outgrow intolerance of asparagus. Diane likes it, but since I do the cooking and can't stand the smell, she gets it when she goes out to eat.

Made a big batch of stuff today in the slow cooker. Don't have a real name for it. Tomato puree, onions, carrots, corn, peas, black beans, and brown rice. Mixed with the pieces of one cut up chicken, spiced with garlic, cumin, HOT chili powder and oregano. Enough for dinner for a couple days and also to freeze a few servings for emergencies.

This batch turned out nicely as did last week's similarly concocted curry dish.
