God, that sucks. Whoever did it has no rhythm or sense of timing. How old was the person who did it, four?

You know, the first few times I heard that clip, I thought it was hysterical -- but the more I heard it, now, the more I feel sorry for Dean. The poor guy's voice is shot, he's trying to energize the troops and yell over a cheering crowd behind him, and a touch of laryngitis gets caught by national TV.

Wow, a president who speaks Arabic would be awesome. A voiced velar fricative takes a lot of practice to execute at full volume like that.

Don't know, who did it, but I expect it might be playing on our car radios during rush hour any minute now.
Personally, I don't think this is an unrecoverable moment for Dean by any means, but I think the best way for him to deal with it is to find a way to make fun of himself - not something he, or any of the other candidates - seem inclined to do. But leading the laughter is different than getting laughed at.

I read somewhere that he was cracking jokes about it this morning.

Another motivation for posting: I was feeling a little sorry for the "where are all the conservatives at?" folks and wanted to give them something to brighten their day.
Mostly, though, it's kinda funny.
I will be staying up Saturday night for a change late enough to watch Saturday Night Live - I expect that between Iowa and the State of the Union there might be some fun viewing!

Now I got that song stuck in my head. My baby thinks it's hilarious.
It also reminds me of Mike Myers' "jailbird" sound he makes at the last poetry reading in "So I Married an Axe Murderer."
