I have no idea. This is my dilemma. A business has asked to purchase prints from my Georgia album for their office walls.

12 by 18 absolute minimum $65, $80 or $100 is likely better.
18 by 20 should be at least double the price of a 12 by 18
sell 12 by 9 for cheap, like $25, $30. It'll whet people's appetites, and provide a good gift price, but since it isn't large enough to hang on the wall it won't impact that market (which is the market for all the larger prints) really.

Charge a lot. It's tax deductible for the business, to a maximum amount of $100,000 per year, I think I asked my uncle that last week.

Here's an idea:
Perhaps offer the business a contract to regularly provide them with prints, instead of just outright selling them. In plain form its not preferable to outright sale, but it offers a number of options that could be interesting to consider.

mac, it totally depends.
We usually buy a whole pile of photos for Christmas presents from a photographer friend of ours. This year we bought three 8x10's, two 11x17's and a couple of other miscellaneous larger prints. One was framed. One was matted (though I don't like the matting and will replace it -- I love his photography but his matt and frame choices are usually very boring). We paid $254 for the collection. He's *very* inexpensive, especially considering the quality of work.
Your work is every bit as good as his, what I've seen of it, so I suggest you think of the most outrageous price you could imagine charging, then give them a small discount for the privilege of being one of your first customers. Also, have you thought of doing weddings, and that sort of thing?

What I forgot to mention in the chat, is the cost of taking the picture, take a bit of time to consider how much your time is worth when you take each picture, another way to judge other than by your original cost (or a way to use in juncture) is look at your art, and ask yourself "How much would I pay for this." Hope everything goes well! I may also pontificate upon purchasing some of yours because it is pretty darn good. Satyagraha

I think that the rule with crafters is the amount of money spent on supplies times three. Of course, that's not the same thing as photography, so I don't know. *grin*
What I would do is google for 'fine art photography' and see how much other people are charging. Base your price list from that.
I like fugu's price list, personally. It sounds comparable to the price list of the prints we sell at the store--the paintings, remember the ones I'm talking about? I don't like them too much (waaay too architectural), but grads and parents do, and they are his main customers. Since you already know that this person likes your stuff, all you have to do is come up with a reasonable price. How well do you know this person? Can you ask this person for help in pricing? Or would that be weird?

Mack, go to your local library or bookstore. My sister is an amateur photographer and is doing a wedding for a friend in January and has found a lot of great resources out there. I'm not sure what/if she's charging, though. It might be her wedding gift to her friend. I'll see if I can get more information from her.
