Not to besmirk the grand old man, of course, but sometimes he needs a material assist.

Just spent an hour trying to hook up a Playstation 2 to the living room TV which proved to be impossible (for me, anyway) as we've long since lost the TV remote and the VCR remote didn't seem to grasp the TV/Video Input concept. So I set it up on the TV in his room and all is well, if not as dramatic as I'd hoped.

Got breakfast started - our Christmas morning always includes little smoked sausages wrapped in crescent roll dough and baked, since we know there's no chance the kids will let us take long enough to actually cook anything, and these can be eaten one-handed. Everything's wrapped and refrigerated, prezzies set, and I'm off to bed. Whee!

Merry Christmas, my fellow Clauses!

Lucky you!! We just finished as well. The tree is all twinkly and the stockings are all set around, bulging with junk food. Perfection!

Bedtime! *zzzzzzzzzzz* [Sleep]

Just returned from midnight mass. Can I get an amen?!!!

Well, I'm playing Santa to myself and the dog this year. I don't think either one of us was surprised. I know what she got me, and she sniffed out what I got her before I even had it under the tree.

[Smile] My sister and I are up frantically trying to finish the scarves and hats we made/are making for our siblings. It's pretty crazy. Good luck to all of you real Santas! [Big Grin]

I got to be co-Santa with my Mom this year - we just finished up. This is so much fun! [Big Grin] Makes me appreciate the full-time Santas that much more...

Just now finishing complete build/install of a windows XP machine for my mom, *including backup / updates.*

Yeah. That was fun, remind me to do it again next year! hehe. </sarcasm>

Last year was much easier... hmm.

I had people singing karoake till 1 in the house. No time to be a Mrs. Claus.

Bob, if it's not too nosy(and please let me know if it is), whose midnight mass did you go to? Have you decided to go back to church?

I only stayed up to 10:30 p.m. wrapping (the joys of a an early-to-bed child) . . .

however, I had to lock Nathan and Pepper in my room with me and threaten them with a wooden spoon [Angst] to impose peace, quiet and perchance some sleep after three "NO, IT'S NOT TIME YET" beginning at 2 a.m. (the not-so-joyful aspect of an early-to-bed child) . . . [No No]

He's now with his dad and I am OFF and AWAY to FINALLY see ROTK! Yeah!!!!!

Storm,

I went to CATHOLIC midnight mass with a neighbor.

I'm not saying "yes" and I'm not saying "no" about deciding to go back to Church. Basically, I love the songs at this time of year (why can't the rest of the year have great and moving songs) (Okay, I like a good rendition of the Messiah at Easter too). (But the rest of the year is like funeral dirges...)

So, anyway, midnight mass is one of my favorite things during the holidays. Especially if the church has a good choir. This one did. The female soloist especially was a treat to listen to.

The sermon, such as it was, was empty. The priest, I think, tried hard to weave two themes (Christ's birth and a personal prayer for peace) and it was just not in him. He did 5 minutes on peace, 5 minutes on Jesus, and another 2 minutes on peace, never actually making the connection between the two.

Seems like it shouldn't be that difficult, you know. I may go to this particular church again, just to see if this priest has something better in him. Or maybe the other priest there.

There're about 20 churches of various denominations located between my home and this particular church, though, so I'm inclined to give some of the closer ones a shot first.

So, I'm interested in checking out "churches" but I won't say that I'm returning to church just yet.

That's nice. [Smile]

I'm working on weekends and you would think the friggin Unitarians would have an evening service ,but nooo. So, I don't even have that option.

Anyways. Sorry to derail the thread. Was just curious. Fleas Navidad and all that. [Evil Laugh]

Man, you know you and your siblings're getting older when you don't wake up at an ungodly hour on Christmas morning... I woke up at 8:30 and they weren't even up! I suppose it's all because they stayed up until 1:00 playing Gamecube...
