Shouldn't there be a hatrack t-shirt (if there isn't one already).

And what should be on the shirt, or shirts?

any ideas?

Posted by nihon (Member # 5913) on :

ok so this is what you do:

take a hat rack, but its not just the hat rack, you take like a fishermans hat, and maybe a ball cap, or some other kinda beany. then you take a picture of it and all of the suddenly you have a hatrack with hats on it...do you see the symbolism here? cause if you dont im layin it on prreeeeety thick. any way get some money together and put the image onto some shirts and poof!

We can't make a hatrack shirt, only the Cards can (trademark and all that).

We are free to make a Jatraquero shirt, though.

Well, actually we could each make one for our own personal selves, but any form of distribution would be legally iffy.

Posted by Julie (Member # 5580) on :

Do you think it'd be possible to fit about 5,000 different hats on that rack? Seriously though, there could be different kinds of hats and everyone could vote on the one that best represents their personality and that would determine which hat(s) there would be most of on the rack. Maybe other hats on the floor.

Cool idea Julie! Difficult to actually do, but cool. [Razz]

Or you could put the group hug smiley on the shirt. [Big Grin]

Or have it say "I'm on Hat-crack." [Wink]

Or you could do the hatstand thing. *shrugs*

Or you could just go buy a tiger shirt because really, that's what Hatrack's all about. [Wink] [Big Grin]

If there was enough interest I bet we could present the idea to the Cards. This sounds like something they would go along with if the circumstances were right. You know, we could hold a design contest and the winning design could be put on a shirt that they could sell at the hatrack store. I know none of of here are thinking profit. It's the community idea that is appealing to us here and this is why I think it will also be appealing to the Cards. They are very nice people and really do care about the fans here at Hatrack.

And by the way I really like the Hat Rack idea with the various hats representing the various personalities.

There's a hatrack store?
*looks at top of webpage*
oh....

Oh, a Hatrack shirt... Pleasepleaseplease Uncle Orson?! [Big Grin]

Posted by Farmgirl (Member # 5567) on :

I would purchase a Hatrack shirt if Cards would make one...

they could have an on-forum contest for the design -- like Photoshop Phriday's deal....., or like for Wenchcon.

How many registered users are there? Surely enough to make it worth designing a shirt.....

Farmgirl

Posted by Eruve Nandiriel (Member # 5677) on :

5 or 6 thousand users. [Big Grin]

Posted by Eruve Nandiriel (Member # 5677) on :

Actually, a lot of people have multiple users.

But this is a cool idea! And if we ever meet each other, we can sign each other's shirts!

Posted by ana kata (Member # 5666) on :

There's the Endercon shirt. Lots of people have that one. Then there are the various army t-shirts. Rat Army and so on. There are Wenchcon t-shirts. I don't know if there's ever been one just for hatrack in general, though. I remember some of the P-webbers had one that said "The Enemy's Gate is Down".

ooh. I bet we could think of a better tag line. It would be cool if it had something to do with Alvin Maker...Hatrack...etc.

Ok!! Tagline competition starts NOW! [Smile] Post your taglines for the possible Hatrack T-shirt.

*waits for brilliant entries*

no words. just a picture of a golden plow.

ok, just kidding. not good with designs, but i'd definitely buy a shirt.

"Hatrack... where all hats and their owners come together." [Roll Eyes]
"Hatrack... who doesn't need a place to hang their hat?" [Roll Eyes]
Okay, so I'm not good at this. But gimme some time.

I believe this has been done once a year, every year, since I started coming here. [Smile] But no one's ever actually made a shirt.

Posted by beatnix19 (Member # 5836) on :

*bump*

I just don't want to let this die. I like the idea and think it is something we can definately get done. How many people would be interested in participating in a design contest?

Posted by John Van Pelt (Member # 5767) on :

I'd would participate.

but tom, this could be the year!

You know, I have half a mind to make a blue t-shirt that says:

"Jatraqueros"

Just to spite you, Tom.

I'd like to but I don't have photoshop or anything and wouldn't know how to use it even if I did. Maybe I can find another way to do this. :Goes off to think about it.:

Posted by Eruve Nandiriel (Member # 5677) on :

We can just make our own with fabric paint. Cheaper that way, too.

Posted by Julie (Member # 5580) on :

Hey! Just found some sort of photo editing program on my computer. Now to figure out how to use it!

*bump* This thread will not be lost. Or maybe it will. [Dont Know]

Posted by mackillian (Member # 586) on :

We could use cafepress.

Posted by Narnia (Member # 1071) on :

good idea mack. Someone mentioned doing a contest (which I think is a great idea) to decide on a logo or something similar...and I'd love it if we could pick a good tagline though the thread seems to have died already. [Wink]

I'm in for whatever anyone wants to try. Problem: I am neither clever nor artistic, so I must rely on all of you to come up with something of genius quality. You have my full support though. [Big Grin]

I'd like to participate!! But don't count on me to come up with anything clever...

And Narnia, WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN!? *tackle hugs Narnia*

What about creating a design (or a series of designs) that fit on the 8-1/2" x 11" t-shirt iron-ons for ink jet printers and posting it (them) for anyone to personalize and use?

I'd start by adding

Dead_Horse
Jatraquera #3027
www.hatrack.com

in big letters.

Posted by rivka (Member # 4859) on :

That's clever, Dead_Horse! Then there's no problem with sizing or disliking available colors, etc.

Of course, it would make the individual shirts all different.

But hey, that would be entirely in keeping with Hatrack, neh? [Big Grin]

Posted by Ela (Member # 1365) on :

Hey, I would definitely buy a Hatrack t-shirt, if the Cards gave permission for one.

Pweb had to get permission from the Uncle Orson for The Enemy's Gate is Down shirt (which I have and love.)

I still like my idea of doing a poll so people could pick out what kind of hat best represents their personality and then putting those hats on a hatrack. That way if most people said a dunce cap best suits them (and I'm not insinuating anything here) then there would be a couple of dunce caps on the hatrack. Any that people voted for that didn't get a lot of support or that don't fit on the rack can be on the floor around it or something. Unfortunately I don't know how to use any photo-editing programs or anything so I can't make it, but I still think it'd be cool.

Posted by rivka (Member # 4859) on :

Absolutely, Julie. I love the idea of a hatrack full of hats, with more strewn on the floor.

Posted by Teshi (Member # 5024) on :

Does that mean some people get to be on the rack and others just lie all around on the floor???

[Wink]

Posted by mackillian (Member # 586) on :

You act as if that's a bad thing.

I like Dead_Horse's idea...

Posted by Dead_Horse (Member # 3027) on :

Tanks! And yes, you're right, no quarrels about size, color, or style. Especially since there's not much chance a mass-produced one would fit me and be comfortable. I may do it anyway.

Hats
*grin*

I've chosen about fifty, though, which are way too many to try to fit on a rack.

Edit: moose rack [Smile] Its pretty clumsy, but I felt like having a bit of fun and put it together. There really aren't any good graphics of hat racks out there that I could find.

You could always put a couple dozen more on the back of the shirt. [Big Grin]

Posted by Eruve Nandiriel (Member # 5677) on :

Or just cover the shirt in a whole bunch of hats...like a print or something...

Posted by Julie (Member # 5580) on :

Why does that moose look like a horse that has wings coming out of its ears?

Posted by Dragon (Member # 3670) on :

Good question but it definatly does.
