Okay -- last night I tried real hard to watch the classic movie "Gunga Din"

(1949, black & white, Cary Grant -- story (based on fact) of the struggle between the British Army and the India Thugs years ago when the British Empire controlled India).

I'm sorry -- I just couldn't make it through it. I have never seen soldiers look/act more stupidly in my life. I watched about half the movie and couldn't take it anymore.

So if anyone has actually seen the whole thing -- how does it end? And how historically factual is it really?

FG, I have tried and failed 3 or more times to sit through Gunga Din. Some scenes are cool, but the movie just doesn't gel for me. [Frown]

<----is a film student and has taken the entirety of Film history and has never so much as heard of it.

I'm sorry. Your description sounds like it was a really bad film. [Cry]

It's William Goldman's favorite movie ever.
Haven't seen it, but I sometimes respect his opinion.
