I think that hatrack has a lot of posting style trends. If someone comes up with a thread topic that effectively lures in a lot of viewers, then his/her style is immediately copied by others.
Take, for instance, Ralphie's posting style. She tends to write in this style "<vaguely allude to topic with wit> or, <what the thread is really about>." She had all kinds of copiers. She is also Nerdy McDorkenstein, but we don't need to get into that here.
