Where is Bllomington?

-o-

Can you introduce me to John Mellencamp? If so, I'll come.

[Smile]

Posted by Rhaegar The Fool (Member # 5811) on :

You not from Bloomington, Rhagear eat brain like chinese take-out!

Posted by Rhaegar The Fool (Member # 5811) on :

Did you know Melencamp named his kid after his best friends (Matthew McConahay) dog? Hud. Musicians are weird.

-Rhaegar The Fool

Posted by Megachirops (Member # 4325) on :

Matthew McConaughey is Mellencamp's best friend?!

<--- disappointed

Posted by Hobbes (Member # 433) on :

Well, I'm at Purdue so I'm close. Or at least closer than most of the Hatrackers; is that any good?

Hobbes [Smile]

So you only eat part of it and put the rest in the fridge til tomorrow. I wonder what brain looks like after it's been sitting in the back of the fridge for a couple of months.

Posted by Papa Moose (Member # 1992) on :

Brain and brain! What is brain?

Posted by Hobbes (Member # 433) on :

Apparently tofu.

I was in Bloomington, IN for a wedding last weekend, does that count? It sure is pretty this time of year.

Posted by Primal Curve (Member # 3587) on :

Here's a little ditty...

Posted by Raia (Member # 4700) on :

Hehe, Rhaegar.

Christy, you were in Bloomington last week for a wedding?? Was it at St. Charles Church? If so, I may have almost seen you, I drove by there while it was going on, and saw a whole bunch of people. [Smile]

When you're in Bloomington again, (and this goes for anyone) let us know!!

Posted by Heffaji (Member # 3669) on :

I'm in Bloomington for college right now, but I wouldn't call it too representative of Indiana as a whole.

Posted by Rhaegar The Fool (Member # 5811) on :

Viva la Hicksville!

Posted by Christy (Member # 4397) on :

Nope, we were at the Tibetian Cultural center. It was an 8 hour drive, otherwise we might've had some time to socialize.

Posted by fugu13 (Member # 2859) on :

The tibetan cultural center is great. Did you have a chance to check out the monastery as well?

Posted by Rhaegar The Fool (Member # 5811) on :

Its all about the Lotus.

I'm in Bloomington. I can tell you right now that "someone's brain" is about the quality of Chinese take-out that you can get in Bloomington. No good Chinese restaurants, whatsoever. Now, Thai, Tibetan, and Indian...that's another story!

Technically, I don't live IN Bloomington, but in Ellettsive...but I go to IU, and it's close enough. [Smile]

Posted by Raia (Member # 4700) on :

You all need to come see South High School perform Les Mis. Those of you who live here have no excuse not to. [Smile]

And if you come on the 2nd or the 8th, you get to see me perform [Big Grin]

[The Wave]

So there!

Posted by Audeo (Member # 5130) on :

I'm reading a book written by a guy who lives in Bloomington, about his life in Bloomington. Does that count?

And if you go on the 8th you can meet the only person from Louisville on hatrack (me), or at least if anyone else on here is around here they haven't said it in a thread I read, which makes it my fault, but still go to the play and see the lovely Raia live and in person * [Hail] Raia* [Blushing] Do you sign autographs?

Posted by Rhaegar The Fool (Member # 5811) on :

I hope so, I desperately need one.

Rhaegar: Hehe, autographs! If you want, I guess I can manage something. [Monkeys]

Does that mean I will get an autograph? or do I have to settle for a kiss? [Confused] wait, did I say settle for a kiss from Raia, oh well I guess I don't need your autograph, Raia [Kiss]

If I can't have an autograph, I ust just have to notice that Les Mis is about french people, and so I would have to do something in protest.

I would think their would be more aren't ones.

Posted by blacwolve (Member # 2972) on :

Would all bloomington hatrackers like to have a hatrack get together on the eigth, from noon on, culminating in Les Mis that night? Marek's coming up, and we're going to meet at the library at noon. If anyone's interested, let me know, and we can try to think of some way to recognize each other.

Posted by Raia (Member # 4700) on :

Eep! Yay!!! (((((blacwolve)))))

Is Indiana becoming the new Hatrack hot spot? I propose that we all meet at the Children's Museum in Indianapolis for a really fun time.

I'm there! The Children's Museam is the best.

Posted by TomDavidson (Member # 124) on :

Actually, I love the Indy Children's Museum. One of the best in the world, IMO.

Posted by fugu13 (Member # 2859) on :

Yes, the Children's Museum is excellent. I also highly recommend the Zoo and the White River Gardens.

Posted by Megan (Member # 5290) on :

I'd like to go on the eighth, but I'm actually going out of town that weekend (getting out of Bloomington! whoo-hoo!).

Posted by Rhaegar The Fool (Member # 5811) on :

Were still meetin at the library on the 8th right?

-Rhaegar The Fool

Posted by blacwolve (Member # 2972) on :

I assume so, I thought the Children's Museum was for some other, indeterminate, time.

Does anyone else comprehend the sheer amount of awesomeness ferrets have? I mean, they are born the coolest thing ever, except Evanescence of course.

Posted by blacwolve (Member # 2972) on :

*hss*
the Random thread is over there
*points*

Posted by Marek (Member # 5404) on :

Maybe he only meant ferrets who are from or live in Bloomington, and are members of hatrack [Smile] or maybe he got confused about which thread fe posted on [Razz]

Posted by Rhaegar The Fool (Member # 5811) on :

I was only talking about the ferrets at the pet store in the mall in Bloomington.

-Rhaegar The Fool

Posted by TomDavidson (Member # 124) on :

You know, it has occurred to me just recently that everyone I know who owns a ferret used to live in Bloomington. I wonder if there's a connection.

Posted by rivka (Member # 4859) on :

Seems doubtful. I know a couple people in CA who own 'em. Natives.

Too bad. It would be a fascinating correlation. [Wink]

Posted by fugu13 (Member # 2859) on :

Yes. Bloomingtonians can't stand Weasels.

Posted by Rhaegar The Fool (Member # 5811) on :

I live for ferrets.

Posted by Megan (Member # 5290) on :

I don't mind weasels.

Then again, I'm not a native Bloomingtonian.

Anyway, it seems to me that Bloomingtonians are mostly dog people, which makes them alright with me. Hooray for puppies of all ages and sizes! [Smile]

a bump for the new members who fit this thread

Posted by TimeTim (Member # 2768) on :

Bloomington is like a second home for me. I grew up in Lafayette in Married student housing outside of Purdue. About once a month my family and I would go and visit my aunt (who is the coolest lady in the entire universe!) who used to live in Bloomington. Going there is like arriving in some town forgotten by time. I feel like I'm a yuppie violating some sacred harmonious hippie pact whenever I go. But good golly, Bloomington Rocks!

(In a very subdued peaceful way of course)

My sincerest congrats to all who live there!

Your welcome, also I think a few people may have joined in recent months who weren't here when this thread went around before, but are from or live in Bloomington (or so their profiles say [Razz] ).
