google has a free tool bar that lets you supress pop-up. Click on Services and Tools and then scroll to google tool bar (near the bottom of the page). You can download the code, or install directly. It's fairly small, so it shouldn't be too painful to do, even if you are on a modem connection. Read the FAQs and instruction on how to use it.
