How long after you use up (go for 7 semesters at a 2year collage) a pell grant do you have to wait to reapply?

I was actually under the impression that a Pell Grant was a lifetime deal, to be honest. If you spent it all, it's all spent; there isn't any more.
My mom, who keeps trying to graduate from college, ran into this problem a while back, and has to self-finance everything.

Is the Pell Grant a precedent for vouchers?

Pell Grants are yearly things. I've applied for grants every year, but I didn't get one for this academic year because I made too much money last year and thus disqualified myself.

The Pell is issued yearly, but I'm pretty sure it comes out of a lifetime pool -- just like the Stafford.

I was under the impression that there was a yearly budget for Pell Grants, and the money was divvied up according to need. I could be wrong, of course. I don't ask where the money comes from—I just take it and spend it.

I think your best bet would be to get in contact with the financial aid department at the school you would be planning to use it at.
