Hello All! I am back for a brief visit...

For those of you who forget (or who weren't around in 2000 - 2002) This is Eric Smith, also known as "Dim Sum" (of which I have misplaced the password for)...

Have a favor to ask. I have to lead a class discussion tomorrow about The Worthing Saga, and I am the only person reading a contemporary piece in the whole class, so I'd really like to get a good discussion going. I already have a lot of things in mind, but if you were in my shoes what would you talk about?

"Free will" vs. "everything is determined for us"
Freedom vs. safety
Power: does it corrupt or not?

Would you live forever if it meant your life would be incidental and superficial?

If you suddenly felt pain for the first time, could you forgive the ones who'd been protecting you? Would you hate them for having protected you, or hate them because they stopped?

Do the reald world conquerers have to use tanks, or are there other means to gain control?

Aren't computer games cool?

If you could sleep for 50 years without gaining any years, would you do it? Is it really living longer?
