I have run homemade biodiesel in my car. Smelled like french fries, ran much smoother (high lubricity no doubt), started easier (ditto higher cetane), just can't do it in cold weather or it turns to gel. Slightly less mileage, but 55mpg without sending money to Wahabi-leaning Saudi shieks is fine by me.
Would probably only cost about $0.40/gal if I had a garage to process NeoChina's waste in. (There's a retail station about 30 miles away, finally, but it's only B20). Alas, poor apartment dweller, I knew him Rudolf...
