Especially calling Dana (who lives in Iowa) and Kayla (who might be able to find something on the internet)

Tom and I are trying to find a poster frame that we bought four years ago at Michaels Crafts. I was talking to the woman at Michael's here and they no longer carry the frame (nor does the store in Champaign IL where we bought it, so my friend back there says) but the woman thought that the store she used to work at in Cedar Rapids, IA might still carry the frame.

It is a 12x36 poster frame in a mahogany colored wood with a snap frame and an elastic band around the outside to keep the frame together. The woman told me that the company who manufactures the frame is MCS Industries, but I haven't had much luck finding the frame online even with this information. MCS Industries only sells to stores and I cannot find the right size online sofar.

I know its silly, but I really like this frame and we bought a matching poster to go on either side of our dining room thinking that we could find the same frame. We could just buy two new cheap poster frames, but this one looks so nice.

Anyone have any suggestions? Michael's has already said that they will not special order. [Frown]

What is a snap frame and what is an elastic band? Do you have a picture?

Do they look anything like this?

Speaking about posters, you forgot the Hedge Knight lithograph. I'll give it to you whenever I see you next. [Smile]

Kayla, Here's a photo. It doesn't quite look like the one you've found.

A snap frame is one in four pieces that slips over the edge of the poster to make a frame. This one has an elastic band connected to one of the pieces that wraps around a groove on the outside of the whole frame at the end.

[Frown] I can't find anything right now, but I'll look again tomorrow. I checked out e-bay and they don't what you are looking for right now, but looking there occasionally might be helpful.

Right now I'm holding out for Michaels customer service. I emailed them late last night and am hoping that they will be able to either find me a store or ship me the frame.

Thanks for the help!

I wonder how many of us are watching this thread to see if Christy does indeed obtain said frame. [Smile]

Michael's in Cedar Rapids carries the frame in oak but not mahogany. [Frown]

Thanks for checking dkw!

That's what I've been finding. I'm still waiting to hear back from customer service to see if they'll find one for me.

Thank you for your recent email regarding a product that is currently unavailable in your local Michaels
store.

If the item is not seasonal, discounted or discontinued and is a regularly stocked item, the store manager
may be able to place a special order for you.

We would like to invite you back into your local store to speak to the store manager who will be happy to
explain to you the availability of the item you are looking for.

How terribly annoying. I had already put in the email that I had spoken to a manager who said they could not order it for me. Guess I'll try to talk to that manager again since she seemed more helpful.

You take tom shopping for. . .frames?

At Michaels?

[Laugh] @ Tom.

I swear, I'd rather have my feet gnawed off by a toothless wolverine than go into that store. . .
