And it's scaring me. No lie.
I've always had this odd neurological affliction know as synesthesia. I can see colours in music relating to each key, feel textures depending on the instrument and pitch and I can smell songs and whoever wrote it and each musician.
This works over the net too. I can tell by smell if a person is male or female a lot of the times and each person has their own distinct scent.
And recently it got stronger and stranger.
Now I can pick up an object and get an impression of the person who owns it or sent it to me.
And a couple of weeks ago after a rather tramatic incedent involving a friend I can't really discuss in detail I went completely cold inside. She had experienced the same thing.
Such things should not be posible. Is this just a neurological disorder (Which could explain a lot, by the way.) Or have I really become psychic or somethng which just sounds crazy [Eek!]

Quick Test! Am i male or female? what color am i?

It's not completely crazy. I wouldn't worry about it. Just live your life, you know? I can't see it being a neurological disorder, but you might want to ask a real doctor, just to be sure...

Male...
Could be wrong though... But you smell sort of male...
I sometimes suspect I have Aspergers... I can't think of any other explanation.

I have had many dreams that predict the future. Kind of scary since I have frequent end-of-the-world dreams.

You've convinced me, you were exactly right.. i am male, but not very manly. If I was psychic like you, I would try and cash in on it, like that talking with the dead guy.

Welcome to the insanity club, Synthesia.

I don't think Asperger's would explain that, Syn... It doesn't really make any sense. Are you sure that's what you meant?

Asperger's Syndrome

*Snerk*
I've also been known to feel other people's emotions which is SO ANNOYING because mostly it's all the sad and painful ones and not always the happy emotions.
Which is just odd.
Even more odd is being able to "feel" the colour blue... so odd...

I have a few of those symptons, rocking, terrible social skills, I just don't know how to start a conversation, I'll walk through a crowd like I can't see them half the time.
Though I am a bit too good with eye contact, I usually look at people's eyes for too long.
and I tend to get obsessed with one thing (Music, certain bands) and I'll also wring my hands a lot too.

Hey, why is it that my bad dreams come true, but never the good ones?

Posted by Synesthesia (Member # 4774) on :

Strange that it happens like that. I've had a few good dreams I wouldn't mind having come true.

Okay, I'll be blunt. I think it's more likely that you're getting stressed out about other problems you're facing, and avoiding them by wigging out about "kewl powerz."

This is what kind of tipped my brother over into schizophrenia, a few years ago; we knew it was bad only when he started thinking the radio was talking to him, and claiming that he was picking up the thoughts of a random man in Argentina.

You're not psychic. You're just over-tired and a little stressed.

Nope... Not really... I know the different between insanity and controlled insanity and I'm like this even when I'm not that stressed out.
It's definetly something unusual and almost hard and embarassing to explain.

I believe you.
BTW, what color am I? [Smile]

Posted by Youth ap Orem (Member # 5582) on :

you are pink!

People aren't colours to me... Notes are, people are mostly scents and it's so hard to describe those... But there are a lot of layers to that. Personality types can have the same scent, everyone has their own base scent, a song composed and played by a lot of different people has the scents of all the people playing in there... it's so @_@

Alright! Now that I'm here the normal laws of the universe are in effect. We'll have no more of this "psychic" stuff, and this will continue until I leave the thread. [Razz]

NOOOOO!
NOT PINK!
*ack*
*gag*
*sputter*

"I know the different between insanity and controlled insanity..."

No, see, you don't. That's kind of the POINT of insanity, when you think about it for a second.

So snap out of it, grow up a bit, and stop trying to dodge the bullet, here. Alternately, embrace your new powers, and use them to NAIL your next job interview. Those appear to me to be your only options.

I'm already in the process of dealing with impending disaster.
I think, contrary to what anyone has been telling me that I am doing a rather good job of "growing up" under the circumstances.
These odd and intense knacks are my bliss and will also coome in handy to weave into stories and future essays.
Not to mention reading interviewers rather well.
