Ok, after being told that I needed a few signatures here and there on the ownership thingy for my car, I asked them how much a customized plate would cost.

56 to first get it, and 10 dollars a year after that. Since I've gotten 400 bucks in incentive the last week, I figured I might as well, when I do go back to get this taken care of.

Only thing is, is I'm not entirely sure what I should put. Anyone have any semi-original suggestions. Something obviously alluding to Monty Python would be cool, but I'll listen to some suggestions.

I was thinking "REDWARF" would be pretty cool.

Whatever you do, please think it over carefully. I've seen some that were ridiculous and the person who got it couldn't have written it down first. One that stands out said "ITSSUE" as in "It's Sue", but it looked like TISSUE.

There was a guy in our congregation where I grew up that had one "MAOI". Or something. Now I know that is a class of antidepressant. But it seems unlikely, in retrospect, that it was that.

I can't really think of one expression I'd want to be known by like that. I mean, Christianity is the most important affiliation in my life, but I don't think my driving is very representative, other than causing others to have to forgive me a lot.

Corny joke, anyone?

What did Eve's personalized license plate say?

My vanity plate that I got with my first car was BDO BKS.

Now that I think about it, I don't like it. It was something my dad said about me, and it was his explanation for the way his child acted. His explanation was wrong, though, and mildly deprecating. Now I don't like it at all.

I think that one needs more explanation for a dullard like me to get it ...

I'm afraid I didn't catch it either, Kat.

I've always wanted one that says U2BABY, personally.

Oh, man, I love Red Dwarf. I've got all the episodes on either DVD or VHS. In fact, my name is an obscure Red Dwarf reference. So if you got a Red Dwarf themed license plate, I would heartily approve. However, if you can't get that, and you're a Seinfeld fan, you can't go wrong with "ASSMAN". Of course, you are still living with your parents...

By the way, I don't know if I'm just being paranoid, but I don't think I could ever get personalized plates. What if I cut off some psycho, then he saw my car parked at my work later on. I don't even want to think about it. I'll keep my car as inconspicuous as possible.

I personally would get one that said CHEESE. But that's just me.

I drive my boss's suburban to our branch store, and it's amazing how many "friends" you make when you're driving a huge white boat with plates that say "SAYOZZY"

You know T, even though I see this thread every time I visit hatrack, this morning, for some reason, I definitely thought it said "I've decided to get a customized pirate".

*thinks on this*

I'd like a customized pirate someday....

I want one that either says 'Fyre' or 'AFK'. I always thought the last one would be pretty funny.

Posted by mackillian (Member # 586) on :

HAHAHAHA.

Okay, I love the AFK idea [Smile]

I wanted a plate that said MADOWL, but then I realized I couldn't get it, because I'd get asked by clients (I do outreach) and I'd have to explain, and that'd be a boundary issue.

Dammit.

Referring to last night's chat, I think SGRBUTT would go great with you, dude. If you do it, I'll make a serious inquiry into PMPDADY.

Oooo... AFK would be pretty funny. Do I dare try to publically brand myself a goober, even to perfectly sane strangers? [Evil] Darn right I do. I'll consider doing AFK.

Eddie, if I got a customized liscence plate that said "SGRBUTT", you would have to get one that said "MORMON" or close to it. Only way, dude. [Smile]

To those who have weird obsessions with pirates and custard... go find a really nice link, and post it on the Dobie Thread THread if you haven't already.
