I'll tell you how:
- No matter what, I DIDN'T STARE AT THE FLOOR. - I didn't pace back and forth - I didn't dance - I made eye contact
Oh well. I did everything you all said in the thread where I asked you for advice. I even did Jane's exercise, though it sounded weird, but it really works!
I had to play the part we had to prepare two times. The first time in my own way, the second time in another way, following instructions from the director. I was very lucky, because the first time I was nervous and something happened I had not foreseen: It wasn't me who lost the text, my coplayer lost his several times so I couldn't really focus and I played it too flat. Then the director said I should play it more cynical, with more passion and that was how I had rehearsed it in the first place. So the second time it went great.
So thanks Icarus, that overacting advice is really a great advice. And Raia, for telling me not to stare at the floor And Dragon, to tell me a strong emotion does not always have to mean a big movement. And Teshi, for warning me not to pace. And Schlomo, to tell me I should study the character. I did. And Jane, for this very helpful exercise. And Narnia, for telling me the interaction with the other person was really the most important right now. And MrSquicky, for explaining about method acting and the presentional style. It helped me to choose what to do.

I'm glad the exercise worked! I was a little worried, because I've never done it by myself before - I was always with a bunch of other actors and a director giving the cues. I wasn't sure if it would work with just one person. I guess it does!
