For anyone who hasn't discovered the time manipulation keys, that's what's really fun for me. The J key toggles which direction time is flowing, in case you want to see an eclipse path repeated or something. The L key speeds up time by a factor of 10, and K slows it down by a factor of 10. Things in motion look cool.

And you can click on and go to any of the stars you see. Thousands.

Some of you might prefer orbiter. You actually fly spacecraft (often the shuttle) out to various orbits or to other planets. My brother in law sucessfully planned a trip out to mars on some fancy theoretical ship. He was superproud of his accomplishment.

Although this is a super program in a lot of ways, it isn't near as user-friendly as celestia. And it focuses less on watching the scenery and more on space flight. So there is a steep learning curve when learning to operate shuttle controls &c. Also, unless they have rectified the situation since I installed it, the main install doesn't even come with the textures! You have to install them into the proper place manually, afterward.

(Fortunately it has a pretty good helpfile.)
