Many of you are blessed (or cursed) with special powers of which, I believe, society at large has a right to know about.

For example, I know CT is a medical guru, Mack is a social worker, Troubs is a gaming addict, Ralphie is a bouncer at a strip joint... etc.

But I am interested in the special powers of our lurker friends (besides the ability to be absolutely invisible!). Of course, the old timers might also surprise us with a skill or two we did not know about...

I can drink a lot of beer, and then play hockey reasonably well. If that's not a marketable skill, I don't know what is.

I was born with six fingers on each hand. They were complete enough that they were real fingers, but underdeveloped and so they were removed shortly after birth.

Three of my toes are webbed and the rest of them are shorter than normal toes because of partial webbing.

Today and tomorrow are the first two consecutive days where I haven't had something I had to do (sports, girl scouts, band, school, camp (I'm a counselor), etc.) since June 14th and 15th (my birthday). I think being able to function on that level of sleep deprivation is a necessary skill in life and will certainly come in handy in college.

I have some really cool special abilities.

I know quite a bit about herbs. (If I don't know it and someone asks, I'm more than obliged to learn it for the both of us.)

I can sew or craft just about anything, and my brother and fiancee are witnesses and will attest to this.

I can read tarot fairly accurately.

Oh, yes, and the most important thing-I have the special ability to turn into a poisonous orchid at will.

My mother-in-law, and her mom, pointed out to me that I fold laundry more neatly than anyone they've ever met. (Even fitted sheets!)

I'm a happy camper, which, in and of itself, really isn't that remarkable. What's remarkable is that you are hearing about me. After all, isn't it alway "I'm not a happy camper." or "That's not a happy camper."? Oh, and as for my other special abilities, I have this amazing one of being able to get sick during the last week of August EVERY year. [Wall Bash]

I can do tons of crafts, including some very obscure things like pine needle baskets

I can often come up with ways to fix things with whatever tools happen to be at hand-so long as those things aren't electrical

I have a pin that says "I'm a happy camper" Of course, by the time I got it I was no longer a camper but was already interning to be a counselor. Hey! That's a talent I dealt with camp food for 8 1/2 weeks. OK, by the end I was living off of cereal, salad, and PB & J, but I still didn't have any other alternatives. And the beds there aren't that comfortable either.

I have the ability to put a lot of dents into a tree. Trust me on this, I found out last night. Oh, and I wield a bat.

I also have the amazing ability to make food disappear in a matter of seconds.

I was the president of search and rescue in my county for two years, until I went away to college. So now, one week into college and my life is meaningless and without purpose...Did I mention that I'd met a lot of unhappy (read sick, lost, injured, and dead) campers along the way? [Cry]

I'm pretty good at putting people at ease. This is a good skill to have when you are dealing with new cadets who are scared of everything.

That's pretty much all I have.

Oh, and I am proud of people. If you take a test (for instance) and get a B, then I will tell you how proud I am of you. It's a good skill to have as a mom.

I do have one, rather strange ability.

I can always count on an average result distribution on a pair of dice.

Physics tend to behave normally when I am present. Paranomal activity ceases. A friend of mine calls me a loadstone, because freaky events just can't happen around me. If I walk into a "haunted" area, it's like an instant exorcism.

Probably due to my disbelief. In D&D, don't tech types have some kind of resistance to magic? I think it's kind of like that.... [Wink]

Hey :locke, I have webbed toes, too! Well, sort of, at least. My second and third toes are webbed together. This is on both feet. I also memorize digits of pi.

It would either make the show mundane or irritating. Mundane because nothing strange happens around Erik, irritating because as soon as Erik turned his back, the swamp monster, alien, or other beastie would reappear.

My special ability is to make any random idea into a compelling tabletop, roleplaying, or computer game. I guess I should be known as "Game Mechanics Man -an -an*"

I edited my high school yearbook, so if you want to know about publication in general, ask Jon Boy. He's had way more experience than me. But if he's not around, I can answer some questions about grammar, writing a good sentence, or padding captions. Also, if you have yearbook-specific questions, I can help you there.

I've also worked as a DNA crystallographer, so if you want to know details about that small subset of biochemistry, ask me and I'll ask my boss. I'm just the trained monkey.

Finally, I've just embarked on a four-year (I hope) mission to become a bioengineer at Arizona State University. Eventually, I might end up as an expert on both. Don't ask me about Tempe, though. I'll probably never see it because I'll be stuck in my dorm room all the time studying!

I have synasthaesia - the ability to "see" numbers, dates, and colours for various ideas (such as seasons, time, the alphabet...). Tis cool.

Also I can play any instrument by ear, any song I've heard. Not like the savants, but well enough that someone can recognise it.

I am also only 6 years old. [Eek!]

IQ tests rate mine as in excess of 160...whether they do so consistently is uncertain.

I also began teaching myself to read when I was two, but nowadays that's hard to demonstrate...

I can sing the whole alphabet backwards to the tune of Greasy Grimey Gopher Guts and I can sing the alphabet forwards to the tune of the Barney Song (or as I prefer to name it, This Old Man, He Played One. not quite so embarrassing). I also have a knack for making up random little songs. My page I still need to add The Green Jell-o song and The Giant Sea Turtle song.
