So, I have my first job interview tomorrow.

I would really love to get this job, it'd be a great experience, and help me figure out if horsey stuff is really what I wnat to do with the rest of my life.

The job is one I'm pretty experienced at, I did volunteer work at the same place that would be pretty close to what I'd be doing and getting paid for.

I got all my references and a resume together, and had my mom(the job searching queen) look over them, and she says that they'd be crazy not to hire me. But then she's my mom. I've never done an interview, though, so I'm WAY nervous.

Wish me luck, Hatrack, I just hope that I won't need it.

Ni!

What's the job?

You don't need luck. Do well.

Knock 'em dead. [Smile]

But not too dead to the point where they can't pay you.

I will think of you, Mr. Ni. Oh, in a few weeks I will be officially unemployed (understand I will have finished my studies) so if you guys could wish me luck too to find a job...

Just go into the interview realizing they WANT to hire you. So just show them who you are and you are bound to do well. Don't be overly forceful, don't feel the need to fill silences in the interview.

I'm sure you'll do great!

Good luck, though I, too, am sure you won't need it. You got the stuff, kiddo! [Wink]

Break a leg.

I mean it.

Threaten to break their FRICKIN legs if they don't give you a job.

PS. Watching Seabiscuit 15 times should not be put on one's resume under job experience.

Good Luck.

Good luck, and may you seem confident, even if you can't manage to feel it.

Be sure to let us know how it goes!

It's a facilitator job at a therapeudic riding stable, I'd be helping with the handicapped kids, getting horses ready, feeding, and anything else that needs doing.

Toni, do you really WANT a horse job?

THe interview went extremely well, It was a lot less formal than i'd feared, and the interviewer seemed genuinely impressed by my resume. She was especially excited that I had experience driving a carriage, and putting together harness. She also didn't know that I'd volunteered there before, So I'm really hoping those two things will help me out.

She said I'd hear from her about it next week sometime, so I'll let you guys know how it turned out.

My niece volunteers for special equestrians every year (a camp where handicapped kids get a chance to ride) and she really loves it. I'm sure you'll find it very rewarding. Horses are great! Did you really watch Seabiscuit over and over? <laughs> I enjoyed it a lot and it made me want a horse very badly. My niece is the real equestrienne, though. I just tag along to the barn sometimes and make friends with the horses.

But how do we know, since we wished her luck and she got the job? It could have been the overwhelming wishes of luck that got her the job.

Or her incredible skill and coolness.

Take your pick. [Smile]
