My cuz just turned 18, only to find out they raised the age for buying lotto tickets to 21 soon after. He was bummed. I guess that's not a necessity for life tho...

The really funny thing is that now that you are 18 and know you can buy things, and can gamble, no one cards you because it will be obviouse now that you know you have the right. The trick is to find a clerk so old that everyone looks young they check people's ID into their thirties.
I wish I had thaught of that timezone thing it sound like a cool idea. Oh well, Good Luck! And... um... what am I forgetting? Oh Yeah!

For me, being 18 is a little different from being 17. I got my own bank account and credit card, which my parents have no control over. The thing I noticed the most is that I have to sign all my forms now instead of having my parents sign them. Also, the privacy laws regarding medical records mean that the doctor can no longer discuss my health with my mom. She called this morning while I was still half-asleep and had to give the phone to me because the nurse wouldn't talk to her!
