You kinda gotta love those moments of

"Mainstream" group: X equals y, and by golly, we're going to make sure everyone knows it!

"Fringe" group: Agreed! X equals y!

"Mainstream" group: [wincing] Please, please shut up.

Except that according to the article, most Christian intelligent design proponents (who are 99.9% of the advocates in my estimation) love that the Krishnas support the cause, since then they point to them and claim that its not a purely Christian agenda.

quote:
As the stickers only attack Darwin without endorsing a specifically Christian God, Hare Krishnas see them as an opportunity to introduce Vedic creationism into American schools. They know that once one religion gets its foot inside the door, all others will automatically get equal time to bring in their own creation stories and cosmologies into science classrooms in America.
At least they admit their agenda in supporting ID. (Although that could just be the author's take on the situation.)

I apologize for being somewhat dense today, but I don't get what you're trying to say here.

He's saying that the Vatican isn't an authority on what is or isn't science.

But I agree with the Vatican (amazing, I know) on this point. Intelligent design is NOT a science and shouldn't be taught in schools. I'm glad that the Vatican recognizes this.

What about an evolutionary scientist?

I'm assuming you were misled by the incomplete article originally linked on the subject. The Vatican article in question was written by a biologist.

"The Vatican" didn't say anything.
