The thing that gets me is that the PIXAR films Disney is pushing to do sequels for are the ones that don't NEED sequels.
Toy Story 2 ended with the lead character making peace with his mortality...or the toy equivalent. It was obviously meant as "The End".
I don't think I even _have_ to say why "Finding Nemo 2" is a bad idea, do I? I love the characters, but the story was over. It's a self-contained story about a dramatic event that changes the lead character's lives and deepens their ability to express love. A sequel would be wrong. On so many levels.
"Monsters Inc. 2"...well, maybe this could work. But only if it was NOT a cheap repeat of the first film. Still, I'd rather they leave it be.
The thing is, there's a mega-hit PIXAR film tailor made for sequels...The Incredibles! Thanks to the serial nature of super-hero fiction, it's be a natural!

Well they know what they're doing, but from my limited vantage point I had hoped that the contract would run out and PIXAR could really make more of a name for themselves.
Not that they haven't already.
