I'm a third generation White Sox fan. My parents grew up in Bridgeport; one of my great-aunts still lives there, just a few blocks from the park. They spent lots of time at Comisky when they were younger. I haven't been to a game in a while (also, both my sisters married Cubs fans ) but I'm thrilled to see the Sox doing so well.

Lifelong redsox fan here. I can say one thing, mainly that I am not all that upset. I'd really like to see the whitesox win it all. It was such a good feeling last year so I hope other die hards can experience that. Maybe next year the cubbies will do it Posts: 17 | Registered: Sep 2004

God. If the Sox beat the Yankees, I'm going to buy a round for everyone within a hundred yards of me at that moment.

Nah, if by some chance the Sox take it all, we can't have the Cubs getting it the next year. We need plenty of time to lord it over the North Siders for years to come.

Dang. No Red Sox-Yankees division series now
...of course, the Yankees are down 1-2, so there's a chance they won't get to the division series either now... but, the Angels? I mean, does anyone outside of LA actually CARE about the Angels one way or the other?

See, I'd rather have an interesting series in which my team loses, than an easy series in which my team wins. The Yankees in a series are just way more interesting than most other teams... and if your team beats the Yankees, it's just that much more satisfying.
Look at the Red Sox. They lost this year's first round 0-3. But I haven't heard any screaming or wailing from the Red Sox fans here on the forum, and I'm guessing it's because they've still got that warm fuzzy glow of contentment of having come back from 0-3 against the Yankees last year to win, and then go on to take the World Series.
So, yeah, it'd be nice to see the White Sox get to the Series, and even win... but if they can have a great, close series with the Yankees first, well, then you'll get to tap into that warm, fuzzy feeling for YEARS. Mmmm.

I think you'll hear more screaming and wailing from us Red Sox fans if the Yankees make it to the world series . Of course we would have liked to win, but I think we all kind of understand that this wasn't our year. We just didn't have the bullpen this year, but I'm sure that will change next year. GO RED SOX!

Who would we rather see the Sox play in the series, huh?
(And don't even TALK to me about that bad call. It happens. People need to move on. I'm sure they're willing to play an extra inning or game to prove to the world that they can with this series without help from the umps.)

Don't start thinking ahead. This is Chicago. We can't do anything that could possibly be a jinx.

I still think the Yankees would've made for a more fun match-up against the White Sox... but glad the Angels didn't win, and, yeah, it's nice to see Chicago get to the World Series.

Tickets go on sale Tuesday at noon through Ticketmaster only. 120 for bleachers, 185 for lower deck reserved. Limit 4 per person for only one game total. I can't afford it, but I sure wouldn't refuse if someone offered one to me... LOL

Chicago (COMISKEY!!! whoda thunk???) for games 1 (Saturday) and 2 (Sunday), either St. Louis or Houston for games 3-5, and back to Chicago for 6 and 7.

So they do play the series in the towns of the actual teams? Why was it in my head that they have the location for the World Series planned way in advance like the SuperBowl? Huh.
Well cool! I'm so glad for Chicago! Wish I could be there.
