I was just curious what sort of ringtones you guys have on your cellphones (yes Megan, you too ). I appreciate that not all of you have cellphones, so I don't need lectures, haha... I only got mine a little over a month ago, and really wish I didn't have to have one, but I have no other phone, so it's a bit necessary.
Anyway, my phone plays the Pink Panther theme when it goes off.

Oh man -- Goo Boy - where did you get that? I wanted that, but I had to "create" it myself on the custom tune part of my phone. And it's not exactly true to tone.

I don't have a cellphone yet, but when I do get one, my ringtone is going to be something Final Fantasy related. I'm thinking maybe the Chocobo theme at first, though I'll probably change it every now and then. But yeah, Final Fantasy. Definitely.

When someone calls me from home, my phone plays "The Imperial March" from Star Wars.
When JemmyGrove calls, it plays my own little samba composition.
When anyone else calls, it plays the Aria from the Goldberg Variations by J.S. Bach. (That was my first download, just to tell you how much of a nerd I am.) Posts: 6415 | Registered: Jul 2000

I can't get any fancy ones on my phone, so I have to choose from the default list. At the moment, it's Cinematica.

Of course not. When you call, my ringtone is set to "silent" mode. Maybe that's why I haven't answered...crikey!

I have the guitar intro from Can't Stop by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. I used the voice recorder on my cell to record it and then set it as my ring tone. I wasn't sure how to download ring tones.

FG, will your phone play .wav files? If so, I'd be happy to send you the file (though it's not hard to get online).

Indeed.
Thankfully, I don't have a cellphone. My pockets are full enough as it is given the iPod and the Game Boy Advance, plus the wallet that is too large for my taste.

Yeah. If I did have a cell phone, it would have a good old-fashioned telephone ring. Or just vibrate. Otherwise I would consider it obnoxious.

Mine is "Chill Penguin Remix" from Mega Man X. I think I got it from Overclocked Remixes. It's pretty cool :-D

Currently it's a weird musical thing that I typically don't even know is me ringing. Before my last phone was stolen, I had an old bell-style telephone ring for most of my contacts with one person set to permanent silent mode because she has absolutely no concept of "acceptable call times" (i.e. she routinely calls while I'm at work).
I haven't yet downloaded new tones for the current phone. I'm thinking Fraggle Rock (which will drive my 12 year old insane, she HATES that show), Wicked, Phantom, and/or Monty Python. Possibly a combination of the above.

I have beetoven's 9th (ode to joy) for all my highschool friends, at least the musical ones, which inlcludes raia, the non musical one gets my unknown ring
family gets home on the range
and unknown gets this weird computer sounding theme, nothing i know.
My mom has Greensleeves on hers, but Beetoven's 5th for the orchestra boosters, whom she talks to much less since I've graduated, and when she does, it can be a quite annoying call.

Cellphones that don't just ring annoy me, but not as much as the owners' of said phones who insist only letting the whole song play before they'll even consider answering.
That and people who ride for miles with a turn signal on I'll never understand.

When Lindsay calls Gir sings the DOOM song.
When Ron Fowler calls it's a futurama quote "Let us out! We cooked our shoes in the dryer and ate them, now we're bored"
When Mark Fowler calls it's Homer talking about Triangles (Wrongly)
When my Dad calls Homer shouts USA USA!
Jonesy calls and i hear Prof Farnsworth "Let this abomination unto the Lord begin!"
Olivia is still unassigned, as is my mom, and lots of other people so i hear The Flaming Lips singing The Spark That Bled

I figure phones should ring, but I wanted something more interesting than the regular ol' phone sound. Answer: tolling church bell.

When my husband calls it used to be Babe by Styx. But when I got my new phone I couldn't find that ringtone anywhere and I am majorly bummed. Mr. Mom (you know that country song) just isn't the same though it fits since he is the stay at home dad right now.
For everyone else its Chicago "Does anybody really know what time it is"
Does anyone know where the rington Babe by Styx is? I'd really like to get it again. Or do you know how to get a ringtone from one motorola v180 phone to a motorola v300?

Regular ring, regular phone. Why would I want people to interrupt me when I'm not home?
"That and people who ride for miles with a turn signal on I'll never understand. "
Oddly, the 2001 prius has no turn signal indicator sound, and also has very poor turn signal cancelling. Probably the most advanced car on the road, and my turn signals are perpetually on. (Well, I'm getting better at noticing)

On our electric car, the turn signal doesn't turn off by itself at all. (It's a "feature"! ) You have to flick the lever back yourself. If you've been driving it a lot, it's easy enough to remember, but if you've been driving a regular car, then it gets easy to forget.
Nothing like being behind a slow moving vehicle going down the street with its blinker on!
